Why Some Affiliates Dont Make Enough Money

Writen by Peter Garant

Affiliate marketing is most probably the key to the survival and progress of many cyberspace businesses. And this is why affiliates are being sought everywhere by almost every online company. One traditional marketing arm will not be sufficient for one online business who will be competing with other online companies which are offering the same products and services. Thus, affiliate marketing is very vital.

Fortunately, many people with business blood in their veins realize the important role of affiliate marketing in e-commerce. And conducting affiliate marketing seems like a relatively easy method that even a person without a masters degree in business can do it. This is why there are many affiliates signing-up everyday. These new affiliates are supposed to open the doors of new leads for the online business. But nothing like that is happening

Many affiliates are not earning enough money and they find no significant activity going on in their websites. Is affiliate marketing a mistake? The answer is "no". This practice is based on sound marketing concepts. And the major reason why most affiliates don't earn enough money is that they have committed one or more of these mistakes.

Mistake #1: Hard Selling

An affiliate must not do "hard selling", which is basically shoving the product down the throat of the customer. An affiliate should leave the "hard selling" part to the website of the online business. The affiliate's own website should not contain anything that resembles "hard selling".

What an affiliate must do in his website is to "pre-sell". To pre-sell is to slowly convince the visitor of the importance of a service or a product by having excellent, information-laden, and authoritative content. Then, the affiliate will "suggest" an action for the visitor, which may be to check out the service or the product.

Mistake #2: Too Flashy Websites

An affiliate is supposed to respond to the need of the visitor, which is to obtain information. This means that the affiliate's website should have information. Unfortunately, some affiliates are lured into making their websites into one electronic show, in which there are too many banners and too many "blinking" features that seek attention.

If there are too many banners and too few content, the visitor will most probably roll his eyes and hit the back button.

Mistake #3: Ignoring Search Engine Optimization

Activity in the affiliate's website can be increased if the website's URL ends up in the results page of search engines. Otherwise, the affiliate's website is doomed to silence. It simply becomes a lifeless stone in the ever increasing world of e-commerce.

A person who intends to make more money in affiliate marketing should re-evaluate his website and determine if he has committed the mistakes described here.

Peter Garant's affiliate resource site sells cheap website articles to webmasters that understand the need for unplagerised and high quality content on their websites.

Poker Affiliate Secrets How Poker Affiliates Generate Commissions

Writen by Blake Stevenson

If you're a website owner and you've noticed that a lot of other sites have advertisements and yours doesn't you're probably wondering why. You might also wonder what do they do? Why are they there? Do they make money from them? The truth is that these advertisements more often than not mean that the site owner is a part of an affiliate scheme. Whilst they may sound like a bit of a longshot and an unlikely earner the truth is actually very different. Webmasters all around the world are benefiting from earning an extra income simply by having small advertisements on their pages, which begs the question why aren't you?

Affiliate programs are simple and require little or no effort on the part of the website owner. All that is needed is to sign up to one of the many programs available, download some adverts, place them on your site and bingo your away. It sounds simple because it is simple, you can make it as easy as you like. Working hard, like in all working environments can pay dividends, by increasing your sites marketing and content there is a far greater chance of success. Work hard and your site could be earning you more than you ever thought possible.

But when a site manager goes to choose an affiliate scheme to join, which should they choose. The Internet is awash with ideas and companies all desperate to get a small advert on as many sites as possible. The best bet for any website owner is to choose a successful industry, one that will reward you with the greatest payouts and attract the most visitors. Industries that have the potential to increase, whilst already being huge. An Industry that generates thousands of new members each day. An industry like the online poker gaming sites.

It may sound far fetched to many, but the truth is online gambling has become one of the most profitable and lucrative business opportunities. Millions of dollars are generated each year through poker alone. But in a game where players play against other players how can a site make money. It is very simple, every time a hand is played the poker room takes a cut of up to around $5 depending on the size of the pot. With dozens of games happening in dozens of rooms 24 hours a day 7 days a week, money soon adds up. Similarly each competition and tournament has a two prices one that goes into the prize fund, whilst the other goes to the site. For example a $20+2 tournament costs $22, $20 of which goes into the pot for the poker players and the $2 straight to the website. By taking small percentages each time, the poker site can eventually amass a tiny fortune.

The worldwide availability of the sites means that players in different time zones can play at any time, making sites constantly busy. Therefore the sites can make more money at all times. So where do the affiliates come in? The role of the affiliate is simply to attract people to the sites, once they have done this the poker site rewards them with a percentage of a players money that they have generated for their entire lifetime. So site owners can get a piece of a huge industry, with little or no knowledge about it and with no risk, it's as close to a sure-fire success as any online money making program.

What Is An Affiliate Income

Writen by Jordi Shoman

An affiliate income refers to a check you can receive from a company each month that represents a percentage of the amount of money customers spend in purchasing that company's product or service. This is based on the customers that you refer to the company's website that actually do make a purchase. In order to get started in this type of online business, your first step is to find a product that you can write about and join a free affiliate marketing program for that product.

Once you find a product and a program that pays well, then you can get started in setting up a website related to it. There are many ways to look at the type of product that you get started with. Some affiliate marketing programs pay well, but you have to think of how many people will actually buy these products. You can look at products you know that people will buy and then do a search for affiliate programs related to these. Some examples of affiliate programs that will give you a second income are travel, fitness, books and home improvement products. There are also online education programs that pay well when it comes to an affiliate income.

With the world becoming a global village because of the cheap airfares being offered all over the world, travel destinations is one of the most commonly searched term on the Internet. Select a place that you can write about and join an affiliate marketing program such as Travelocity. Each time a customer purchases hotel, car or airline reservations as a direct referral from your site, you get paid. In the case of Travelocity, this is $5.00 for each purchase, so you would only need 20 people buying from your site to make $100. All you have to do is have a domain name and a website to get started. You can make money 24 hours a day while you are sleeping, partying or playing golf.

How The Right Keyword Linking Text Helps Affiliates

Writen by Karen Kari

In perfecting your affiliate business model, the devil is in the subtleties. Once you prepared useful content, product reviews, articles and the like, most likely you added banners and PPC ads. Then maybe it became obvious by studying your visitors behavior, that you should add affiliate links to buying opportunities in or around your text. Or you may want to link from an article to additional facts, photos, charts or diagrams.

It's simple to just put in a click here button for the information or product. Even easier to put it next to or at the end of the text. But there are good reasons not to take the easy way out. Statistics have shown that many more people will click on a product name in the context of an article or product review than will click on one beside the review. And still more will click on a link that is descriptive of the product. The same goes for making the effort to obtain additional information – the more specific the link name better. So take the time to name your link teak toy train or tide tables for New London CT, and the results will be worth the effort.

And this is one of the situations where the actions you take for the search engines is the same as the ones you take for the humans reading your copy and buying from your site. Search engine bots operate on changing sets of complicated algorithms, but it is known that they value specificity and the logical and judicious use of keywords. Using them in your links is likely to have the effect of assisting them in digging deeper into your site and seeing more of the content you want to win points for.

Protecting Yourself From Affiliate Link Thieves

Writen by Stephani Richardson

So, you have worked really hard to build a fabulous affiliate site. You took the time to add your keywords and relevant information about the products. Your pages load quickly, and your site is even listed in the search engines for specified terms. You look at your stats, and you see a regular flow of traffic coming into your site. You get really excited! You log in to your affiliate program manager, and.... WHAMO! You have very few commissions from sales, and your click-throughs are extremely low. Suddenly, you are asking yourself, "what the heck happened here??" The answer... You might possibly be the victim of affiliate link hijacking!

In this revolving world of the Internet, we are constantly being bombarded by spammers, spyware, viruses, and hackers. Now, we have to worry about link hijackers stealing commissions that are rightfully ours. So, what is link hijacking and how do you prevent it?

In the simplest terms, link hijacking occurs when someone replaces their affiliate ID with yours. The result? They get the commission instead of you. You did all that work, but someone else is getting paid? Yes! You may be wondering how this happens.

Let me explain. I first heard about this phenomenon while visiting various discussion boards on affiliate marketing. Many affiliates had experienced a decline in sales while their site's traffic stats remained high. Common discussions found in affiliate forums include various software programs which "steal" information. Many of these programs download themselves onto a person's computer, either knowingly or unknowingly. These programs can override your affiliate links each time the customer visits your site, therefore giving credit to someone else.

Many times, people download packaged programs that contain these types of software. The innocent surfer may not even realize they have a program running in the background. Anyone who takes part in the Internet community, whether it be a webmaster or a surfer, should stay informed about these programs by visiting parasiteware.com on a regular basis.

Link hijacking comes in various forms... not just from downloads. Let's say your affiliate link looks like this: www.url.com/?123456 , where 123456 is your affiliate ID. A link hijacker is interested in the product and wants to purchase it. He also wants the affiliate commission from the product. He takes your ID 123456 and replaces it with his ID 999999 to look like this: www.url.com/?999999 . The result? He gets the commission from the product purchase. He modified the link to benefit himself. You lose.

Here is another example of link hijacking: A customer comes to your website and sees a link to the product that he wants to buy. When he moves the mouse over your link information, he sees your affiliate url in the status bar of his computer. Instead of clicking your affiliate link, he decides to manually type it into his address bar, leaving off the affiliate referral code: www.url.com. This results in no affiliate tracking information and no commissions for you. You lose again!

So how much money could you be losing? I have read that an estimated 10-30% of commissions are lost due to affiliate link hijacking. (In a recent article from "revenue" magazine, the estimate was as high as 40-50%). Can you imagine the kind of potential revenue that you might be losing right now?

Take Action by Protecting Yourself From Revenue Loss

In the constant search for new scripts and software to improve my websites, I have run into several affiliate cloaking devices. Most of them cost around $50 or more. However, I did run into one cloaking script that is free. It is called Affiliate Link Cloaker (ALC). The site owner simply asks that you subscribe to their newsletter.

By golly, I love free stuff, don't you! If you are interested in learning about this script and how it works, you can visit their site at webmasterinabox.net/affiliate_link_cloaker.html . They have other scripts that you might find useful as well. Now, get out there and protect those links!

Affiliate Programs Can Be Very Beneficial To Internet Marketers

Writen by Eric White

An affiliate program is, simply defined, a sales job in which you earn a commission. You will be an independent representative of a company, offering their services and products to prospective customers. When one of the customers makes a purchase, you get a portion of the profit. Internet marketers can increase traffi'c to their own web sites and make money form the sales of others through affiliate marketing programs.

Internet marketers can be affiliates for several products from multiple companies, on as many web sites as you operate, in as many businesses as you desire. You don't have to travel to remote locations, yet the internet places you in front of a worldwide marketplace. This gives you incredible diversity in the products you choose, markets in which you do business and neighbourhoods in which to sell, all from the comfort of your own home in front of your computer screen. You could possibly make several sales at once, but you will never have to deal with face-to-face rejection. When doing business on the internet, you don't necessarily need to make sales to earn lucrative commissions. Certain affiliate marketing programs will pay you if someone just clicks on a link you place on your web site, fills out an application, or even requests additional information. And here's the most attractive part - your web sites work for you twenty four hours a day, each and every day.

Commission rates will depend on the types of products or services that are offered. Tangible goods that will have to be shipped to customers will pay lower commission rates than products like e-books or software that can be downloaded immediately. However, 10% of a $600 television is more money than 60% of a $40 software program, so you have to remember to consider the big picture when deciding what affiliate programs to join. For the best affiliate sales experience, you will want to offer products and services that will appeal to the targeted audience of your web site. As an internet marketer, you will need to appeal to the interests of your customers when placing affiliate links on your web site.

There are various ways to join affiliate programs. Some retailers operate their own program, and you will join through the merchant web site. But many internet marketers choose to operate through an affiliate network. These independent companies offer sign-up, payment, tracking and affiliate program management services to retailers and affiliate marketers. A couple of well-known names are Clickbank and Linkshare. Simply perform a search for affiliate programs and you are sure to find more.

Your sales and clicks are tracked by software. It is your job to make sure your links follow the procedures and rules posted by your merchant or affiliate network. Some browsers, a'd-blockers, and coding practices can prevent the tracking links on your web site from functioning correctly, and you might not get credit if one of your clicks results a sale. Most affiliate marketers encounter this problem eventually. When it happens, remember it's not intentional, so do not feel as if you have been victimized in some way. Internet marketing technology is very good, but it's not perfect.

For almost all internet marketers, joining affiliate marketing programs give you a cheap and easy way to get started in an online business. These programs can help you produce income while you learn internet marketing techniques and work towards developing your own product or service.

Affiliate Program Information What You Need To Make Your Website Successful

Writen by Jeff Casmer

Who doesn't want to earn more money with affiliate programs?

The Internet is an avenue many businesses are heading towards. Opening up a website to showcase your products and services is like opening up your business to every city and country all over the world. With the Internets' vast accessibility you can expect droves of customers to boost up your sales.

Well, not quite.

The Internet now boasts of millions upon millions of businesses that are fighting to get the attention of potential customers. If you don't play your cards right you may just be among the other millions of online businesses languishing in the lonely corner of obscurity. Every online business are doing their best to find ways to at least corner a market, get a good share of customers and to have a steady increase in sales.

There are lots of methods devised to reach this goal; one of these is by having a good affiliate program. Many websites have caught on and have started their own affiliate program, for some though, they do not have enough knowledge to do so. That is why searches for good affiliate program information is abounding.

Affiliate program information usually deals with essentially what affiliate programming is. It describes what an affiliate program does and how it can affect a business.

Basically, an affiliate program is a program wherein an online business affiliates or links up with another online business or ecommerce which has relatively the same product or service offered. These are businesses that compliment one another, like say a karaoke machine store and a site that offers karaoke songs and music.

These sites can exchange links and offer their customers the products and services of the other. What generally happens is that every time the other site through the marketing efforts of the other site generates a sale, the affiliate partner gets a share or commission from the sale. The more members there are in an affiliate program means more profit and sales.

Another positive effect is that because there are links exchanged, traffic may increase in your website because they are advertised in a multitude of other sites. With more visitors you can effectively showcase your business to more people.

Other affiliate program information frequently sought after is on how to start the affiliate program.

This is where it could get tricky. There are various ways to start an affiliate program. Some of them require you to install a program, like CGI scripts, in your website where you can track where the visitors are going and lots of other aspects of work like accounting commissions, paying them yourself, promotion, security and lots more. Or you can get an affiliate program host to do these for you. A merchant account could also be the solution you need. They will setup everything including the lists of other websites that can be a part of your affiliate program.

When looking for affiliate program information, you have to make sure that the information you get is detailed and very informative. Some affiliate program information offered on the Internet is just promoting other websites and their services. You have to make sure that what you will be getting will be beneficial for your business. A little devotion of time and effort will go a long way. Making your online business a resounding success will take a lot of work. Affiliate programs are a great way to earn you extra income as well as boost your traffic flow. Take the time to get the affiliate program information now to start your own affiliate program.

How To Use Articles To Build Your Affiliate Program

Writen by Michael Southon

Articles are the perfect promotional tool for your affiliates - they bring in more sales than banners, book covers, and ezine ads. Your affiliates can post them on their website, use them in their newsletter, or turn them into a free eBook.

One the easiest ways to build your affiliate program is to offer your articles as a zip file and allow people to replace the link in the resource box with their affiliate link.

Here is how to do it:

1. Copy all your articles as text files, formatted to 60 characters-per-line, to a single folder on your hard disk.

2. Create another text file in the same folder called 'index of articles' which lists each article by title and file name.

3. In the 'index of articles' write a brief message explaining how to join your affiliate program and how to customize the affiliate link in the resource box.

You can see an example of this at: http://www.ezine-writer.com/michael-southon-articles.zip" http://www.ezine-writer.com/michael-southon-articles.zip

Then just zip your 'articles' folder using WinZip. WinZip is free and can be downloaded from: www.winzip.com/download.htm" www.winzip.com/download.htm

To create a zip file using WinZip, just follow these steps:

1. Open WinZip and click on 'File' and 'New Archive'.

2. In the 'New Archive' box, choose a folder where you want to save your zip file

3. Choose a name for your zip file and press OK

4. In the 'Add' window, browse until you find your 'articles' folder and double-click

5. Click on 'Add with wildcards'

That's it! Your articles zip file has been created.

Offer your articles zip file for free download in as many places as possible:

  • on the index page of your website

  • on your affiliates tool kit page

  • in the welcome message for your newsletter

  • in your email mini course

  • as a bonus gift to your customers

  • in your sig file

This technique will not only increase sales of your existing affiliates - it will quickly bring you dozens of new affiliates.

Good luck with your articles!

The Key To Highvolume Web Sales

Writen by Michael Southon

The quickest way to achieve high-volume sales on the web is to set up your own affiliate program.

There are two ways to set up an affiliate program: you can install affiliate tracking software on your server or you can use a 3rd party affiliate tracker.

Here is a list of sites that offer affiliate tracking software: http://www.ezine-writer.com/affiliatesoftware.html

For most people, a much easier option is to use 3rd party (or web-based) affiliate tracking.

There are literally dozens of web-based affiliate management services. Some have setup fees, some have monthly fees and others charge monthly commissions on your sales.

Here is a list of 3rd party affiliate trackers: http://www.ezine-writer.com/3rdpartyaffiliate.html

One of the most popular 3rd party affiliate trackers is ClickBank (http://www.clickbank.com).

Compared to some other affiliate programs, ClickBank's system is quite basic - for example they only offer one-tier affiliate tracking and they don't provide click-thru stats.

But the one big advantage of ClickBank is they are widely used (by over 10,000 merchants) and trusted - and that means your customers will feel safer when ordering your products.

Here are some of the features of the ClickBank affiliate program:

=> one time setup fee of $49

=> no monthly fees

=> 7.5% commission on your sales

=> automatic email (to you and your affiliates) every

time you make a sale

=> ClickBank issues checks to your affiliates

=> checks issued every 2 weeks

=> low minimum ($5) before a check is issued

One drawback to using ClickBank is that the links your affiliates post on their websites won't contain your domain name - so they won't increase your link popularity.

But there is a way around this - a script specifically designed for ClickBank merchants that generates URLs for your affiliates, based on your domain name: http://www.easybiztools.com

With this script, your ClickBank affiliates would use a link that looks like this: http://www.yoursite.com/sales.php?offer=nickname&pid=1

Once you have your affiliate program set up, you'll need some promotion tools to offer your affiliates.

Here are some ideas:

=> free eBook - this could be as little as 5 or 10 pages explaining the benefits of your product or service. Make sure it contains some valuable tips and include links to your website that your affiliates can customize with their own affiliate link.

=> your own articles - if you write free articles, encourage your affiliates to use them in their newsletter and on the website, with their affiliate link in the resource box.

=> ezine ads - offer your affiliates 30-word ads they can place in newsletters (preferably ads you have tested and found to be effective)

=> email course - if you have an email mini-course, allow your affiliates to offer it from their website, with their affiliate links

=> popups - give your affiliates a template popup for their website, with instructions on how to install it

=> affiliate kit - put all your affiliate tools into an eBook that your affiliates can download

That's it! All the information you need to set up your own affiliate program.

Online Casino Affiliates Earn Your Slice Of The Action

Writen by Blake Stevenson

Over the years many people have tried to crack the code of the casinos, in the hope that one day they can discover how to beat them at their own game. Unfortunately the odds always seem to favour the house, a fact which has spread through the Internet generation of online gaming. Some will win and some will lose, whilst all casinos are strictly regulated to make sure of no foul play, they still hold all of the cards even in a Java applet. But there is an old saying, 'if you can't beat 'em join 'em' and thanks to the affiliate marketing program, Internet users can and already are profiting from the huge successes of online gaming sites.

The affiliate program works by rewarding smaller sites with a revenue for supplying a larger site with valuable customers. In the case of the casino affiliate program, this reward comes in the shape of a percentage of a player's money generated for the site. This chunk of a players revenue is not just for a one of game or a couple of months either, it lasts for as long as the player remains on the site. Therefore as long as the casinos are profiting from them, so are the affiliates. This marketing strategy works supremely well for both sides of the divide. On the one hand an affiliate is able to generate revenue just by shipping out customers through the small banners and text links implanted into the site. Whilst the casino's on the other hand gain from innumerable new custom and all the financial ramifications that come with that.

With an affiliate earning up to 35% of a player's lifetime money, they can tap into and take away a little bit of the casinos bulging wealth. With the casino industry worth billions of dollars each year, it is certainly a profitable industry to be associated with, no matter which end you join from. Affiliates stand in line to pocket a percentage of the casinos revenue, without barely lifting a finger and best of all without risking a penny. With the affiliate program providing all new affiliates with advertising materials such as banners, all for free, there are no hidden start-up fees or charges to be incurred. Also unlike the casinos, affiliates can't lose money if a player goes on a winning run. The worst that can happen is that the affiliate will get a zero balance at the end of the month, whilst the casino foots the bill. But with thousands of affiliates working in unison, the casino barely minds a few spilt dollars, because they are constantly fed with new and potentially lucrative customers. In turn the affiliates are happy because they are getting a slice of the action, without any of the risk, making it a very pleasurable business partnership.

Affiliate Internet Marketing Basics

Writen by Rebecca Game

What is Affiliate Internet Marketing?

Definition
-----------
Affiliate internet marketing is a superb introduction to ecommerce and earning extra money, but according to TamingTheBeast.net, it's also "a numbers game."

In a nutshell, affiliate internet marketing is an advertising arrangement, so to speak, in which a company offers to pay you, as an individual or business owner, an agreed sum of money based one of the following advertising results from your site:
- a click through from your web site to the business' site;
- a fixed amount for a lead, where a visitor would sign up for a newsletter or other special offer; or
- a percentage of the amount of a purchase made by a visitor as a result of a click through from a link posted at your web site.

Often times, affiliate internet marketing allows for a "cookie duration" of 30 to 90 days. What this means is that if a visitor clicks through from your web site to the business' web site, the visitor will have the cookie in their cache. When the visitor returns to the business' web site to make a purchase in the given period of time, even if they don't first hit on your web site, the cookie will still be in their cache, and you will receive your commission from the purchase for that visitor. Prior to signing on to an affiliate internet marketing agreement, however, don't assume this to be the case in all agreements. It is something to be inquired about prior to agreeing to the affiliate internet marketing program.

Finding an Affiliate Internet Marketing Program for Your Web Site
------------------------------------
Locating the best affiliate internet marketing program for your site can be difficult and tedious. An extended amount of time is highly recommended in order to search the details of an appropriate affiliate internet marketing programs for your particular needs; implement the links; and monitor their activity. It can require long hours and may prove to not be a big money maker. Additionally, many affiliate programs come into existence and then disappear just as quickly, meaning that purchases or click throughs from your web site may not be paid in such incidences, which is why careful monitoring of the programs is crucial.

Approach the search for affiliate internet marketing opportunities with care. For example, choose an affiliate program with a major advertising agency, who can offer you hundreds or thousands of advertisers in which to choose. Another option is to consider individual companies to represent on your web site. If the company is one that is well known, has a good product or service, offers great affiliate support, and commits to regular payment with a low payout threshold, they can actually perform better than some agency associations. This can most definitely be the instance at hand if the business you're representing offers residual income, or monthly commissions from referred clients for services that might include web hosting or magazine subscriptions, for example, for as long as the client is with the company. Affiliation with these types of individual advertisers, over time, can build a steady stream of reliable income for you.

Be wary affiliate internet marketing programs that you have to pay to join. These types of affiliate internet marketing programs are actually called of Multi Level Marketing associations, or MLMs. There are some very successful and respectable MLMs around, but there are also many that are complete scams that are simply out to take your money, offering no support. Research the MLM carefully before committing to their affiliate internet marketing program.

Setting Up an Affiliate Internet Marketing Program on Your Web Site
-------------------------------------------
An affiliate internet marketing program is extremely simple to set up on your web site, and can be an excellent way to generate some extra income. While it's not realistic to think that it will be a huge money maker, it can be an effective tool to use in generating added money for your business or simply for your household.

Once you've located an effective affiliate internet marketing program that satisfies your needs, you'll need to advertise that affiliate's URL on your web site. This can be in the form of banner advertising, text links, reviews, email, or through other resources. The advertisers compensate webmasters by paying them for displaying the ads, or for click throughs sent to them, or, as is most common today, a commission on sales resulting as a referral from their web site or email message. Your chosen affiliate internet marketing program will have the information you need to get started with their particular program.

Be aware of affiliate internet marketing programs that promise they're the best, giving you the impression that all you have to do is implement their banners and links, and wait for the commission checks to start rolling. That can certainly be the case with very large web sites that have massive web traffic relevant to the product or service being offered by the affiliate. However, for the rest of the sites that are not that huge, being a successful affiliate requires just a bit more work.

Another thing to watch for when setting up an affiliate internet marketing program is the company's minimum payout level. Often, the business will set an unachievable level for an affiliate to achieve, but they themselves will greatly benefit from affiliates that don't reach their minimum. For example, consider a company that launches an affiliate program with a minimum payout level of $25, which tends to be the industry standard. They then recruit 20,000 or more affiliates. Only the top 1,000 affiliates are able to actually generate enough in sales to receive payouts on a regular basis. If the remaining 19,000 affiliates average one sale each, they may lose interest and drop out of the affiliate internet marketing program. These 19,000 affiliates made no money at all, but the company still earned what could actually be millions of dollars in sales.

Success with Affiliate Internet Marketing Programs
-----------------------------------
Though there is much information to obtain prior to becoming an affiliate, it can definitely pay off in the long run. Being an affiliate is hard work, but can also be very rewarding when you team up with the right merchants. Take the time required to learn all of the details of an affiliate internet marketing program offered by a business, and don't sign on with a program that leaves questions unanswered or offers little or poor communications to their affiliates.

My Five Affiliate Marketing Mistakes

Writen by N.E. Wigal

In October 2004, I launched my first web site. I was a complete rookie at building, maintaining, and understanding web sites, but I didn't let that stop me.

My grand plan was to have a little money-making website that would augment my income. I thought I could do it, given enough time. I figured I would learn marketing on the fly.

I decided I was going to make this small amount by being an affiliate marketer. I'd read one or two books, and it didn't sound too hard. I thought I was smart enough to succeed on the little bit of information I'd accumulated.

I shut down that web site in September 2005. There were some life circumstances that dictated I wouldn't be able to find an internet connection, let alone run a website. I learned a few things in those 11 months, and I'd like to share my lessons learned.

Selling Easy-to-Obtain Items

I figured that once people got to my web site, they would be lazy and buy common products they could easily pick up at a local retail store. Wrong!! I had dozens of items. Not a single one of them sold. I was puzzled and confused until it occurred to me that people usually save money, and they sure as hell save time by hauling themselves off their chairs, getting into the car, and battling traffic to get what they saw on my web site!

Lesson learned: Show case items that aren't easily found in your town, city, or county. Otherwise, it's too darn easy for folks to run out and get them.

Inadequate Pre-Selling:

Now, I'd never heard this term before, but once I heard it, and understood what it meant, I was in love with it! Too bad I couldn't translate this affinity to the web page! I didn't understand for a very long time that benefits are the only thing people want to read about. They don't give a shiny rat's patootie about features. Will my featured item solve their pain, fix their problem, make them feel better again, help them make more money? If it won't, can't, doesn't, and won't...forget about it!

Lesson learned: Good copywriting skills can be used anywhere, anytime - especially on the internet!

Not Knowing What People Are Looking For:

You would have thought that once the first lesson sunk in, I'd automatically be on easy street! Not so - again for the longest time I featured products that were hard to get locally...but nobody really wanted them online either!

And the few items I sold repeatedly surprised the hell out of me. I kept thinking, "I would have never thought this would be a winner. Why is it this wacky widget sells, but the wonder widget doesn't?"

Lesson learned: Get a grip on what people really want and need to buy, but can't get locally. Get it?

When It Cost as Much to Ship As the Cost Itself:

I was totally, totally convinced this one product that worked so well for me would be a real moneymaker! Well, surprise! The damn thing weighs 40 lbs. all by its' lonesome, and shipping costs were as much as the product cost! Hello- that's not helpful!

Lesson learned: Even if it's the best widget in the world, if you can't pre-sell it, and if it costs too much to ship, it's going to get passed over!

No Follow-up to My Mailing List

My list was small. Every single subscriber was a cause for celebration. When I closed down my web site, I had 163 subscribers.

In the 11 months my site was up, I only had one person unsubscribe, but the way I felt, you would have thought I lost everything!

Seriously, once I started getting the hang of things, I didn't do email follow up to those who stuck with me through my monthly newsletter. How many opportunities did I miss?

Lesson learned: Spring for that autoresponder service, develop follow up emails, and let 'em rip!

Final thoughts:

The thing is, I had a lot of fun most of the time. It was the Great Unknown, and I was just ignorant enough to enjoy the ride most of the time. It's ironic - by the time I shut down my web site, I was steadily selling one product (almost one order every day), my Google Adsense was starting to look healthy, and I was ready to expand.

But that old scene-stealer Life kind of got in the way. It's OK though, because I turned that web site into an ebook, I've taken three copywriting courses, I'm in a copywriting coaching program, and now I finally understand why web masters should never, never launch a web site without a good mini-course and robust autoresponder in each hand!

Merchant Companies Make An Impression On Your Affiliate Site

Writen by Karen Kari

To the uninitiated, the more the merrier in the affiliate marketing game. But you have a site focused upon a particular subject, cause, product, and the choice of inappropriate merchants or advertisers devalues your site. People don't like clutter. Just think – where do people enjoy shopping more—a superstore full of hundreds of thousands of items, or a boutique that features the ones they want and need?

Knowing your site visitors is essential for your focus as well as your affiliate program success. Not all merchants or advertisers are for your site visitors, even if they sell the category of product your visitors buy. Remember, that while you're not censoring what they're buying, you are filtering. Just as a personal shopper knows that a certain client is a 31 year old career woman who wears jackets and tailored pants to work, you know that your typical site visitor is, for instance, between the ages of 25 and 44, looks for value in classic clothes, and won't spend over $120 for a pair of pants.

It therefore stands to reason that you will look over the women's apparel sites carefully to weed out those with the super-cool girl-trash look, or the designer sites where the smallest accessories cost more than your visitor's entire outfits. If fact, you owe this to your visitors, who trust that the advertisers you feature will be as appropriate as the content you offer.

It's just another way you can show your site visitors you are focused on them, and adding enough value to deserve a return visit.

Starting An Online Business Affiliate Programs Make It Easy

Writen by Jeff Casmer

If you have been longing to start a business online you may be coming across terms you've never heard before. You may also have found the opportunities available are overwhelming. Where do you begin?

AFFILIATE PROGRAMS - EASY START

Affiliate programs may be the easiest online business to start running. Why?

With any online business you must have a product or service to sell. First you must create this product or service and then you must be able to fill orders.

Selling your own product or service also means creating a website, learning how to write ad copy, setting up a marketing plan, being able to accept payments online and obviously doing the work. If you're selling a physical product then you will need to make or buy the item, package it and pay for shipping costs. If you provide a service than you will likely have to start by doing free jobs to build your credibility and then when you are charging for your service you are still limited by how much work you can actually handle.

THE MAGIC OF AFFILIATE PROGRAMS

Affiliate programs are a great way to get started in an online business. In fact there are even some 'Super Affiliates' who are making fabulous incomes from affiliate programs. So, what ARE affiliate programs?

Affiliate programs allow you to sell another company's service or product and make a commission on every sale or lead. You do not even need to build a website or handle the transaction. Your job is to drive traffic (customers) to your affiliate link.

An affiliate link is a special URL code that will identify customers coming to the company's site from your advertising. It will likely be the website address with a code attached to the end.

Some affiliate programs also have tiers. That means if someone who is interested in SELLING the product comes through your link and signs up you will also get a small percentage of THEIR earnings.

HOW DO I CHOOSE A PROGRAM?

You should research the popularity of some of your interests. Try to determine if people are buying that product or service online. There are many sources for finding that information including free ones such as the Overture keyword tool.

When you have found an area that is popular then type the subject along with 'affiliate program' into your search engine and see which programs have services or products for that area. You can also use an affiliate program directory.

When you have found a program that looks interesting you should read the terms of the program. Make sure that payouts are not based on a high commission earning or you may never see your money. Also try to choose programs with high commission rates. Often you will find ebooks and downloadable software has the highest rates as there is no physical product to make or ship. If you are satisfied with the terms then you need to sign up - usually a simple process.

START MARKETING

The reason affiliate programs are so great for beginners is that you only need to focus on marketing - not making - your product.

Many affiliate programs have information on how to market and give you tools such as banners, product feeds and more. You can also look for other information on marketing including writing articles, creating pay-per-click campaigns, commenting in online forums etc. As you gain experience marketing you will make adjustments to your selling and start creating a wonderful income!

How To Set Up Multiple Streams Of Income Using Affiliate Programs Part 1 Of 5

Writen by Neeraj Varma

Today I will give you ideas from Ken Evoy. Ken has helped more people set up successful Internet businesses than anyone on the 'Net. And I'm not exaggerating.

Just to prove my point, as your first free gift, I am including a full fledged course written by Ken on the subject of setting up multiple streams of income using affiliate programs. Just go here to download the Affiliate Masters Course: http://www.netman-ecommerce-guru.com/Aff-Masters.zip

The Affiliate Masters Course gives you a proven formula called CTPM.

C stands for content based on what people are looking for. If you know what people are looking for, it becomes easy to position your product as the solution. If your product solves a burning problem for people, you will get sales.

The whole issue of content revolves around choosing the right words. In order to build a real business you have to focus in on keywords that will attract both customers and the search engines. Customers look for words to help them determine whether or not they are interested in what you are offering. The search engines use words to help customers find your site.

The Affiliate Masters Course discusses several ways to select the right content so your success is assured even before you launch your site. Creating high profitability topics, based on key words will be discussed in part 2 of this series.

T stands for targeted traffic. Before you can make any money on the Internet, you have to have traffic to your site. Not just any traffic, but traffic that is interested in what you are selling. You can pay for highly targeted traffic by advertising in Pay-Per-Click (PPC) search engines. You can establish relationships with other websites not directly competing with your own to generate traffic. The best way, however, is to get free traffic from the search engines. Several free, paid and relationship oriented strategies are discussed in parts 3 and 4 of this series.

P stands for pre-selling. Pre-selling is a process of creating credibility in the mind of the prospect. Nobody trusts the Internet these days. The only way to make any money is to provide valuable information that people need. Once they start trusting you, you can recommend products and services that will help your customers and make you money. The whole process is discussed in detail in the Course.

M stands for Monetization. Only AFTER you have gone through all of the above steps can you expect to make any money. The key in affiliate marketing is to choose the right affiliate programs. You can choose from backend providers, affiliate networks and aggregators. Each has its pros and cons (discussed in the Course).

Once you have identified some potential "directories" or other source of affiliates you need to dig into the details and find the really good ones. Check for quality of the product, strength and stability of the company, their ability to track sales made by affiliates, how they pay and how often, does their tracking system pay if the visitor comes back to the site directly and buys later, etc. The course contains too many details to cover here.

Right in the beginning of the Course is an example of how a complete novice used these principles to earn $49,000 in just over a year on his first attempt. He did much better on his second attempt by earning over $300,000.

I hope you will take the time to actually go through this course. You are getting it free of charge so you may tend not to give it much importance, but the Affiliate Masters Course is one of the best and most comprehensive resources on affiliate marketing.

Next week you will receive some free software that will help you find highly profitable keywords. We will discuss several strategies to use keywords to ensure your success in your online business.

6 Powerful Vre Business Models You Can Start Building In 2006 Using Google Adsense Part 3

Writen by Cory Threlfall

Google Adsense is simply pure genius because of its simplicity to produce profits from your website Day and Night while your sleeping.

Who knew that a business on the Internet could be so simple to build and makes many people 5 to 6 figures a month by simply offering people what they're looking for... INFORMATION!

Now if you've been following my "6 POWERFUL VRE Business Models You Can Start Building In 2006 Using Google Adsense" series and have viewed some of the websites out there with Google Adsense on them then you should have a good idea by now of what you need to do to get your Google Adsense empire off and running.

I like giving examples because it really reinforces the importance of where you need to place your Google Adsense Ads in order to get a good CTR(Click Through Rate) as well as how you can blend them into your content so they don't look so obvious that there ads and as well, give you some idea's as to what others are doing so your not left there scratching your head saying... "Am I doing this right?".

These few last weeks I've been working Day and Night on a new project using Google Adsense and want you first hand to take a look so you can model it for your own Adsense websites.

This website will grow on it's own, and the cool thing is, I won't have to write a single word if I don't want to.

Go take a look ==> http://www.thearticlesyndicate.com

Like I said, I like to give you examples and this is an example of what I talked about in my first part of my VRE Google Adsense series.

Anyway, without further adieu, lets move on to the next VRE Google Adsense business model that could pay you in two ways depending how you choose to structure it.

In the last installment I covered "Web Directories".

So in this part of the VRE series I'm going to cover "Review Sites" and then give you some examples of what they might look like.

Here we go.

VRE Model #3. Review Sites.

"Review Sites" are pretty self explanatory but are basically websites that focus on writing Product Reviews(people giving there personal opinion) about Products and/or Services that people offer on the web and/or offline.(ex: Automobile Reviews, etc.)

That's it. That's all they are. BUT, those reviews still contain "CONTENT". Content Google can use to display targeted Google Adsense Ads which in turn could earn you BIG money if you target the right niche.

Now, as I just mentioned "Review Sites" can target any Niche, whether it's Sports, Gambling, Dating -- basically whatever your interests are as long as there's a market for it.

I also mentioned earlier that you could get paid two ways by having your own review site and it's really NO secret.

All you have to do is write reviews on Products and/or Services that offer an Affiliate Program and then simply incorporate your affiliate link into your review using a quick "Call To Action" like...

... "Click Here NOW For All The Details".

Now, if they don't click out through an Google Adsense Ad and choose to click out through your affiliate link and purchase, well... you did your job. You just made a commission.

That's it.

Now you could also set up a review site where others could submit their reviews, the only problem is... they get the affiliate commission, but you still have your Google Adsense through out your review site making you clicks that make you money.

It's up to you on how you want to build it.

Now, lets wrap this up with a few examples shall we.

Here's 3 that I think will give you a good idea of what to expect:

Web Source:

http://www.web-source.net/previous_reviews.htm

Top Ten Reviews:

http://www.toptenreviews.com/

Consumer Search:

http://www.consumersearch.com/www/lawn_and_garden/

Now, as I said earlier, your review site can be Topic Specific or can target multiple Topics. It's up to you.

These are just a few that I picked randomly while doing a search on Google.

I hope they gave you some idea's on whether or not you want to consider building an VRE review site.

Surf around on Google - http://www.google.com - in the area that interests you the most to see if anybody else is doing it or do some keyword research to see if it's even worth pursuing.

There are always factors to consider before building a business, even with Google Adsense, so make sure you do your homework before hand.

That's it for now. So, be sure to be on the look out for my next installment of "6 POWERFUL VRE Business Models You Can Start Building In 2006 Using Google Adsense".

Affiliate Marketing Nightmare Dont Let This Happen To You

Writen by Chris Ellington

Everyone knows that affiliates can make or break a company's success rate. Ken Evoy has a whole army of people motivated to earn click-through commissions on his Site Sell program. Marlon Sanders and Yanik Silver have made fortunes with (and for) their affiliates.

"If you've got an e-commerce website," I was frequently told by my internet savvy friends, "you have GOT to have an affiliate program." I took that to heart. "Ok!" I said, and when I created www.ArticleMarketer.com, I made sure that I developed a compelling offer for affiliates.

So what's the nightmare? Here I had created the perfect program for affiliates and what kind of results was I getting? None. Nada. Zilch. A big fat zero. There was no lineup of affiliates banging at the door.

Has this happened to you? Is your affiliate program going nowhere? Here is the step-by-step analysis of what makes an affiliate program take off, and how my results were impacted by each one.

Offer a good deal – make it worth their while

Affiliates will not promote your product because it "feels good". An emotional payoff might be sufficient for non-profit organizations or political campaigns, but that's not enough in the cold, hard world of e-commerce. Affiliates are looking for products and services that quickly convert to sale.

Affiliates don't mind pre-selling your goods to their lists and visitors, but you have got to make it worth their effort. Don't be cheap. Give your affiliates a good deal. Unless you're selling Lear Jets or Rolls Royces, that 5% commission you are thinking about isn't going to get anyone excited about being your representative.

How did I fare against this point? I nailed it. I made sure to offer 50% commissions and a lifetime customer program. Residual and recurring revenue are automatic. For any customer that one of my affiliates sends to my site, they get paid. Not just on the first sale either. They get paid every time that person spends money, renews a subscription, or buys something else.

But evidently that was not enough. I had my program set up to offer a good, profitable deal for affiliates. So I moved to the next point:

Provide personal service – be responsive

Affiliates are your business partners, not cattle to be herded. Treat them with respect, provide them with the tools they need to be successful, and be responsive when your affiliates ask for help, guidance or tools. In the end, it will make things better for you. Make sure you take care of your affiliates.

Well I am a naturally outgoing guy, so I have a tendency to reach out to customers, partners and business associates. It's just who I am. I like people. I send email, write articles, post in the blog – I'm a communicative guy. I've got my phone number on the site, and I personally answer my phone. So personal service couldn't be my problem. But still, why weren't people signing up to be affiliates? I moved on to the next point:

Why You?

It's likely that you're not the only company offering the chance to sell a product or service like yours. Give your prospective affiliates a reason to choose your program over your competitor's. Do you do it faster, better, cheaper? Why is it going to be easier and more profitable to sell for you than for someone else? Why do you deserve their attention? Why do you deserve the attention of their visitors?

With 20 years of direct sales under my belt, I certainly know how to craft a presentation to crush my competition. I put direct comparisons to other article submission services right on my home page. I created an instructional video to make it easy to submit articles. Audio prompts explain every step of the way. I have a long listing of places that articles are submitted. There is no reason someone would want to do article submission on their own (because it's tedious) or with any of my competitors (they don't have the reach, and their prices are exorbitant) so I knew that there was no problem in this area. So I moved on to the final point.

Promote! Promote! Promote!

You have to be as diligent in promoting your affiliate program as you are in promoting your products. You have to let people know that you've got a great deal for them. You must let people know that you have an affiliate program, you must provide tools, banners, graphics, articles, ads, and links that they can use to drive traffic to your site.

This was my problem. I was suffering under a "If you build it, they will come" delusion, and it almost killed my response. I didn't even know how hidden my affiliate link was, until I had a conversation (remember, I'm a talkative guy) with a new affiliate. She was an existing customer. She had been to the site, pored over it, in fact, and had asked questions. She had used our services, so when I asked her what prompted her sudden interest in joining the affiliate program, I was shocked by her response. "I didn't even know you were set up for affiliates until I read it Michael Campbell's Internet Marketing Secrets newsletter. (www.internetmarketingsecrets.com) When I saw that he was telling people how great your service was, I said, "Hey, I can do that!"

So it wasn't until I started promoting the service that I discovered how important it is to promote the affiliate program as much as it is to promote the article submission service itself. To ensure that it's easy to find, I have moved the affiliate link on my site. It's now prominently displayed right in my main navigation and clearly marked "Become an Affiliate".

I hope that you'll take this story to heart and implement these four techniques. Start by adjusting your program, make sure you talk with your customers, check your value proposition, and then begin trumpeting your affiliate program from the rooftops. You'll see a quick improvement in your affiliate sign ups!

10 Independent Affiliate Programs You Should Look At

Writen by Matt DeAngelis

Not all of the good affiliate programs go through the big boys. As you can imagine, there are advantages and disadvantages to using someone like Linkshare or Commission Junction to run your program. The major disadvantages seem to be cost (expect to drop ten grand for setup and network access fees, and a 30% commission on what you make from the program) and the fact that your program will be lost among thousands of others.

So many companies have decided to manage their own affiliate programs, using specialized software and with their own promotional plans (30% buys a lot of Adsense). I surfed the ten most popular independent affiliate program directories, and I've listed ten of the more promising programs.

Disclaimer: I do not necessarily recommend or endorse any program here. All I know is that I reviewed the listing, visited the website and decided that it was genuine (rather than a bunch of ads or links and/or a Clickbank or other program's front site).

Affiliate Classroom
www.affiliateclassroom.com
A step by step training program to help you easily launch and grow your own affiliate internet business (I signed up for this one).

Balance Ayurvedic
www.balanceayurvedic.com
An Ayurvedic (natural and herbal) remedies website with a 20% lifetime commission on all sales.

Internet Marketing Center
www.marketingtips.com
Resource center for Internet Marketing. The free stuff is good too.

$1 Newspaper Ads
www.clickslink.com/shop/newspaper_ads.html
Advertise in the classified section of newspapers for as little as $1 each. (Through Clickbank) I thought this one was kind of cool.

Funny T-Shirts
www.funny-tshirts.biz
There's some funny stuff here, and $4 per sale for you.

Information Packaging
www.info-pack.com
Some really cool and unique software for webmasters.

BettingBots
www.bettingbots.com
Here's a unique site for people with gambling-related content — a directory of betting automation software.

Tradepub.com
www.tradepub.com
Pay per lead for free trade publication subscriptions - good for industry-specific sites

4 Team
www.4team.biz
Microsoft Outlook tools

Testiment Business Marketing
www.testiment.com
$5 per lead for Internet Marketing consulting

There are plenty of good programs out there that aren't connected to a big affiliate network, and plenty of directories to find them.

Here's a good Google tip: type in the word or phrase that describes the affilate program keyword, then include +affiliate. For example, if you're looking for a dog toys affiliate you would search dog toys +affiliate. You should get back a bunch of programs.

Happy hunting.

Have You Got Zip

Writen by Joel Comm

This week, I want to let you in on a little money-making opportunity. Actually, that's not true, I'm going to let you in on a pretty big money-making opportunity.

If you haven't heard of Got-Zip.com yet, then as soon as you've finished reading this article, I suggest you surf on over and take a look. I think it's one of the best affiliate programs I've seen in a very long time.

The principle is very simple. Instead of handing out affiliate numbers to anyone who signs up, Got Zip lets you choose a zip code, a county or even a state to sponsor. Anyone who enters Pagellan.com, a sales site run by Got-Zip, is invited to enter their zip code and the sponsor of that territory gets a cut of the commission earned on their purchase.

See, I told you it was easy!

Each territory can have no more than two sponsors though. As you might expect, most of the states have gone (probably all of them by the time I put this up) but there are still plenty of counties and zip codes left.

And here's the thing: the sponsor fees right now are insanely low. You can sponsor any zip code in the country for less than twenty bucks per year. How hard do you think it would be to do a bit of local marketing and make that money back in spades?

There are no restrictions on who can join up or how many territories you want to sponsor but I think that for people who already know about marketing, especially online marketing, this is a real gift. There are just so many ways you can drive people to do their shopping at Pagellan (it has relationships with more than a hundred sites from Amazon.com to Wine.com). Frankly, for those of us who know even the slightest thing about site-building and marketing, it's like swapping a twenty dollar bill for a blank check.

I've thought pretty hard about the ways that Got-Zip's sponsors can make money and I've put them together in a guide so if you do want to sign up, you might find that pretty helpful, but Got-Zip aren't giving me a penny for telling you about them. I just think it's something you'd want to know.

I'm pretty sure that as this idea catches on, those prices are going to go up, so do check it out now before that happens.

You can download a FREE copy of Joel Comm's ebook, Got Zip Uncovered at http://www.gotzipuncovered.com This free ebook will tell you everything you need to know about the Got Zip opportunity.

13 Killer Ways To Increase Your Affiliate Commissions

Writen by Kusuma Widjaja

1. Start a private web site. Use it as a free bonus if people buy the product you resell. You could also allow people to join for free and you could advertise the affiliate program you've joined.

2. Participate in chat rooms related to the product you're reselling. Start a conversation with a person without trying to sell to them. Later on, while you are chatting, mention the product you're reselling.

3. Do not drive all your visitors directly to affiliate website, instead send your visitors to your opt-in page mechanism first before going to your main affiliate website. That way, you can make follow-up later on and build your own lists so that you can offer another related products or services another day.

4. Start your own affiliate program directory. Join a large number of affiliate programs and list them all in a directory format on your web site. Then just advertise your free affiliate program directory.

5. Write your own affiliate program ads. If all the other affiliates use the same ads you do, that does not give you an edge over your competition. Use a different ad to give yourself an advantage over all the other affiliates.

6. Use a personal endorsement ad. Only use one if you've actually bought the product or service for the affiliate program. Tell people what kind of benefits and results you've received using the product.

7. Advertise the product you're reselling in your signature file. Use an attention getting headline and a good reason for them to visit your affiliate site. Make sure your sig file doesn't go over 5 lines.

8. Recruit lots of sub-affiliates and make it easy for your them to make sales. Give them proven ads to use, make it easy for prospects to order, provide helpful affiliate statistics, notification of sales, lifetime income, residual income, add their commission by giving part of your commission to them, provide a good tracking system and professional training.

9. Join a web ring. It should attract the same type of people that would be interested in buying the product you're reselling. You could also trade links on your own with other related web sites.

10. Participate on web discussion boards. Post your comments, answer other people's questions, and ask your own questions. Include your affiliate text link under each message you post.

11. Create a free ezine. Use your ezine to advertise the affiliate programs you've joined. Submit your ezine to online ezine directories and promote it on your web site.

12. Use referral strategies to get lots of order yourself or sub-affiliates order. Referral system can also be a good way to increase your affiliate commissions if you can give incentives to motivate people to refer and tap deep into people's network of friends, family, and associates. They don't just stop at the occasional, one-off referral.

13. Create a free e-book with the advertisement and link of your affiliate web site. The subject of the free e-book should draw your target audience to down- load it. Also submit it to some e-book directories. The more exposure your free e-book gets, the more your ad will be seen.

How To Use Solo Ads To Make A Small Fortune

Writen by Anik Singal

Newsletter advertising has been getting a bad rap lately. Around every corner you can find someone complaining about how it doesn't work. But when you ask them if they've tried it, most say no. The others who have, had NO idea what they were doing.

Today we're going to talk about exactly what kind of solo ads sell and what factors are important.

Let's start by going through the process of publishing a solo ad.

  1. Choose a newsletter/ezine to publish in.

  2. Write the solo ad

  3. Write an effective title

  4. Design the website where your visitors will go...

1. Choose a newsletter/ezine

Extremely important. You must do your best to choose the most targeted group possible. You must choose a "good-sized" list. Also, the group must be responsive.

The best searching technique is to go to the websites in your niche market that are popular and find the links that say "advertising" or "advertise with us." It's normally quite self-explanatory from there...

I personally recommend going for no newsletter with less than 5,000 members – unless they are extremely targeted and very responsive.

To determine how responsive a group is – ALWAYS ask or look for testimonials from others who have advertised before. If the publisher is unwilling to provide these – don't waste your time promoting there.

2. Write the Solo Ad

One word – story. That's the BEST way to sell someone something – tell them a story. Most people are so skeptical now every time they receive an e-mail that the only real way to warm up to them is to tell them a story.

Start talking about how you went from a "nothing" to having this great success. Or, how you went from not knowing anything about "such and such" to now becoming an expert.

The next tip is to give them a "feeling" of what they are about to learn – *start* to teach them about the topic and then say "O...to learn the rest, click here."

I've learned that the best solo ad never sells a thing, it only pre-sells and warms up to the reader. I guess this is where the theory of "Pre-Sell" prevails.

3. Write an Effective Title

Quite possibly the MOST important part of your entire campaign. Don't underestimate the readers of the ezine. They *know* when the regular issue comes and when the solo ads come. They're already skeptical. If you want to catch their eye, you better have a title that really appeals to them.

Here are some good title tips:

  1. Use Numbers - ex/ How to Get 2000+ Targeted Visitors A Day instead of "How to Get Traffic"

  2. Be Specific – Your title should reveal EXACTLY what you talk about…

  3. Keep It Short – The shorter the title, the more it will be read…

  4. Avoid SPAM words – Don't use "FREE" "MONEY" – These words are turn-offs now…

If you can write an effective title, you've one half the battle already!

4. Design the website where your visitors go...

The BIGGEST mistake (in my opinion) is to simply send the traffic to your main site. I recommend you set-up a SEPARATE website for THAT particular ezine. Make that visitor feel as if he/she is VIP for coming in from that newsletter.

Greet them with a "Hey! Glad you could make it from "INSERT NAME HERE" to our site!

This makes your site more personal and the visitor feels more comfortable reading your message.

A quick tip for your website:

Always talk about the success YOU had with the program you are selling – tell a story and reveal how well YOU did with it. You will see a HUGE increase in sales.

Once again, people want stories and they want storied about YOU.

If you apply these four factors the "right" way, you're bound to do extremely well with Solo Ads. Personally, I make thousands a month selling my consulting service using Solo Ads – so, no one can tell me they don't work.

Till we meet again, thumbs up to ezine advertising!

Writen by Dy Loh

You can easily meet the needs of instant information simply by being an affiliate with clickbank. Here's why and how.

It is quick and simple and free! You do not need to pay anything to become an affiliate. You can instantly give instant solutions to people want to be rich instantly! Imagine the potential.

It is also fully automated, the statistics are there for you and you don't even have to lift a finger! It really is an automated cash machine.

How you can profit from it.

Know your product

You need to be somewhat knowledgeable on the product to be able to promote it first. Buy the product yourself and list down all the benefits you can find. If that is really not possible, you should research on the product and read up testimonials and find as much as you can about it.

Traffic

The most vital and pertinent aspect to your success. Not only must you attract a large enough volume of traffic, but also targeted traffic - People interested in the products that you sell and are willing to buy. How do you achieve this? Simply by doing targeted advertising. Advertise only in places where there are targeted audiences. Google adwords is an excellent tool for doing this.

Some Traffic Generators

Article Submission. Just like this article. Endeavour to write a few a day and submit diligently to the various article directories out there. This is a very powerful back link generator and the traffic quality that you will be getting is also very high

Forum posting. Again, this is a very powerful free tool. It allows you to make intelligent comments and let you link to noticed at the same time. When you are familiar with the community enough, you may even blatantly promote your website to them!

Are Larger Affiliate Commissions Always Best

Writen by Karen Kari

Because there's only so much space on your site, it stands to reason that you want to make the most of merchant links and banners. But is it always best to choose the programs with the highest percentage commissions?

Most merchant or advertiser sites will pay you between 15 and 25% for a click-through that results in a sale or other action, such as a sign-up for a newsletter or the completion of a survey. So, within reason, why shouldn't you evaluate potential merchant partners based on commission percentage?

The most important thing in your affiliate plan is the total amount of commission earned, not the percentages paid by each seller. To do this you need to evaluate merchants or advertisers based upon their appropriateness to your site visitors.

If your site focuses upon young men, 16-22, who enjoy off road motor sports and trips, your best affiliate relationships would likely be those that include vendors of parts and accessories, travel sites that focus on extreme sports and active wilderness vacations, and perhaps motor sports apparel.

The travel sites may only pay you a small percentage commission or flat fee, but a large percentage of your site visitors may be interested in booking a trip.

Information sites – for videos, ebooks, dvd's and cd's usually pay a very high percentage of sales, because an additional sale costs them very little –because customers just download and print. But select your media offerings carefully. A book with maps about traveling the Oregon coast may be great, but one on travel tips for parents of teenagers is likely to do poorly, waste the time of your site visitors, and have them wonder if you really know them well. Well chosen apparel sites may do better, even though they offer a lower percentage commission, because more of your visitors will buy and buy repeatedly.

Choose after carefully predicting what they will buy, then track your sales by category and vendor and continue to fine tune. It will be better for the site visitor and for you, the commission earner.

Poker Affiliate Marketing Tips Pitfalls To Avoid When Doing Link Exchanges

Writen by Blake Stevenson

If you are using link exchanges as a way to build your poker affiliate business, there are several important things that you need to be aware of and must look out for. Many webmasters employ little tricks that will rob you of the benefits gained from linking, in this article I'll be exposing some of these tactics so you'll be able to gain the maximum benefit from your link building campaign.

1. Robots.txt File - Many websites contain a Robots.txt file in their root directory that tells search engine spiders where to go and where not to go. By using the Robots.txt file to instruct the spiders not to follow their link to you, they are cheating and robbing you of any value that the link is providing you.

After setting up a linking partnership with a new site, grab their robots.txt file a few days later (by simply typing in their domain/robots.txt) and look for signs of cheating. Also, you can change the user agent of your browser to "Googlebot" and view their site. If your link doesn't appear, they're not linking back to you in an ethical manner.

2. Nofollow Tags - Take a peek at the source code for the page your link appears on and look for a "rel=nofollow" tag. If this is present, search engines won't follow the link and you won't get credit for it.

3. Javascript - Search engines don't spider javascript code, be wary of link partners who use java to link to your site.

4. Inline Frames - Inline frames are basically websites that are nested inside another site. If the site you're linking with is using frames, the linking relationship isn't going to benefit you.

5. Removing a Link - This may seem obvious, but many webmasters don't think to monitor it. When doing a link exchange with another site, it is important that you monitor their link back to you to confirm that it stays in place. You can do this manually, however the easiest way is to use an automated link management script.

Hopefully this article will arm you with the knowledge needed to avoid linking partnerships which aren't beneficial to your search engine rankings. Wishing you all the best in your poker promotion efforts!

Affiliate Sales Program How To Eliminate High Risk Programs

Writen by Tope Ola

To make the most of your affiliate sales program or to start a profitable affiliate program (or affiliate business) you must select good and credible affiliate merchants.

A good affiliate merchant must provide the following:

(1) High quality, high-in-demand product(s) or services. Don't recommend products that underdeliver.

(2) Good site that sells effectively (you are not to sell directly from your merchant site, you are to build your own).

(3) Ability for affiliates to link straight to individual products, rather than just to homepage. A big boost to your affiliate sales program.

(4) Affiliate support, this should include; Accurate online accounting, traffic and linking stats, e-mail notification of sale, marketing assistance, educative newsletters, and other affiliate sales program traffic-building and sales-getting tools.

(5) Good affiliate commission at least between 10% to 20% (depending on products)

(6) Free to join, No good affiliate sales program should require sign on fee.

(7) Lifetime commission on future sales of other products to customers that you refer.

(8) Two-tier commission and restriction on number of affiliates, this is important because too much affiliates will make the program to crash.

(9) Monthly commission payment with reasonable minimum. Note: All the points above must not be present but the more they are present, the more your chance of making fast and big profit in your affiliate sales program.

Finally to avoid frustration and disappointment, that a lot of people are facing online today. You must plan your affiliate sales program well ahead before you start.

Preferably go into products/services you are familiar with, probably in the area of your hobby, work experience etc.

Build your own professional site and host it, make it a theme based content site to attract targeted customers through search engine (Free advertisement) and Presell your product.

Introduce other models (apart from affiliate sales program) into your site e.g. Google Adsense, referrer/Finder arrangement, other services etc, to make multiple streams of income.
