10 Profit Boosting Tips To Increase The Success Of Your Affiliate Program

Writen by Ken Hill

1. Develop credible, benefit rich ad copy, along with a well designed site to increase your sign ups, and also your affiliates' conversion rates.

2. Submit your affiliate program to directories that list affiliate programs.

These directories attract lots of people interested in joining affiliate programs, and will increase your sign ups by giving you good ongoing promotion of your affiliate program.

3. Pay your affiliates well for promoting your products.

Offering your affiliates a high commission rate for their referrals of your products will increase the number of affiliates that join your affiliate program and also help you to better compete with other businesses for affiliates.

To make your affiliate program even more appealing to your visitors, pay residual commissions if you sell a product or service that your customers pay for on an ongoing basis such as webhosting or access to your private members only site.

In addition, you can increase your sign ups by making your affiliate program two-tier, where your affiliates earn commissions on their own referrals and also on the referrals of affiliates they've personally referred to your affiliate program.

4. Track the sales you get from your affiliates fairly and accurately.

Track phone orders and mail in orders. Only offer payment options to your customers that your affiliates will get paid a commission on if they refer that customer to you.

In addition, pay your affiliates promptly for the sales they refer to you. Don't make your affiliates wait months to receive their checks from you or set minimum payment requirements that are too high for the majority of your affiliates to meet.

5. Provide your affiliates with resources that they can use to get more sales of your products such as ads, banners, button ads, and sample recommendations.

Also include promotional items such as marketing courses that your affiliates can use to promote your products or ebooks that they can rebrand with their affiliate URL.

If you write articles allow your affiliates to run these in their ezines or post them on their sites with their affiliate URLs in your resource box.

6. Answer any questions you get about your affiliate program from your visitors or affiliates as quickly as you can.

Remember that nothing will turn your visitors or affiliates off of your affiliate program faster than an unanswered email. Strive to answer all your emails quickly and in a professional and friendly manner.

7. Provide ways for your affiliates to network with each other.

You could provide a message board or chat room where your affiliates can interact with one another, and learn more about how to successfully promote your products.

Your message boards or chat rooms will also provide you with an excellent chance to show your support for your affiliates and to help them to get started marketing your products with your own tips and advice.

8. Give special recognition to your top earning affiliates by giving them bonuses for the sales they bring you or by paying them a special higher commission based on their performance.

9. Publish an affiliates only newsletter.

Your newsletter will help you to successfully provide your affiliates with tips and techniques that they can use to get more sales of your products.

Publishing your newsletter will also help you to keep your affiliates up to date on any new products you've added that your affiliates can promote, and can help you to increase your profits by notifying your affiliates when you're running a special sale or promotion.

10.Show your appreciation of your top affiliates by mentioning them, their sites, and strategies they use to promote your products in your newsletter.

This will provide you with an effective way to increase their loyalty to your program while providing your other affiliates with excellent tips and strategies for them to use to successfully promote your products.

Web Hosting Affiliate Programs The No Brainer

Writen by Evan Ernst

Web hosting affiliate programs give webmasters the opportunity to earn commission by referring their website visitors to a web hosting company site. When a person signs up for a web hosting package and has been referred by an affiliate, commissions are usually paid in a lump sum ranging from $30-$60.

This provides a great opportunity for webmasters with community and web development driven sites to make extra revenue. As the general public becomes more and more internet savvy, an increasing number of people are putting their first websites online.

The truth is;

The web hosting industry doesn't have a definitive industry leader.

There are a huge number of quality web hosting companies available, and most of them want to pay you to send people to them. By simply placing a small link or banner on your website and informing your site visitors of a web hosting company you recommend, I think you might be surprised at the amount of people who will click-through and check it out.

Do your homework though.

Make sure you select a web hosting company that is reputable. Check to see if your web hosting company has an affiliate program. This way, you are speaking from experience, and you tend to provide an even more compelling reason for your visitors to choose web hosting from you.

If you are very lucky, you might find "the hidden gem"; the best kind of web hosting affiliate program. These are the programs that pay a residual commission, so you continue to earn money every month for as long as your referred client remains with that particular web hosting company. The companies that run these types of programs pay you a percentage of the web hosting costs on an on-going basis, which can add up to be substantially more than the single payment.

Making a recommendation for a web hosting provider not only provides an extra resource for your website visitors, but can earn your some very generous commissions. You have got nothing to loose from trying.

Tips For Making Good Money In Affiliate Marketing

Writen by Jim Ly

How would you like to get paid for selling products that you don't own and not go to jail for doing it?

That is what affiliate marketing is all about. Somebody else goes through all of the trouble to develop a software program, service, or digital content product. They build the web site; they process the credit cards; they deliver the content and they handle the after-sale support and customer service. You collect the money!

What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a revenue-sharing arrangement between the product developer, called the affiliate merchant, and the affiliate marketer who is anyone willing to promote the sale of the product by independently advertising it using any legal means.

This relationship allows the affiliate merchant to grow their revenue by only paying for advertising that actually results in a sale. The affiliate marketer profits by making a commission on a sale that he does not have to manage after the fact. It's a win-win for both parties.

How do affiliate marketers get paid?

That depends upon how the affiliate program is set up. Some affiliate merchants run their own affiliate program. They have special software that assigns each affiliate marketer a special URL to be used in promoting the product or service. The software tracks sales by each affiliate marketer and the merchant pays the commission on a periodic basis using PayPal or some other method.

Other affiliate merchants use third-party affiliate management programs like ClickBank, Commission Junction, ShareASale, and others. The tracking functionality is the same but the payment process and procedures vary among the different services.

How to select a profitable product or service to promote?

Because your income is directly tied to how well the selected product or service sells, and the size of the commission that you will earn, it's important to choose carefully when it comes to choosing an affiliate merchant to partner with.

Choose programs that you're not embarrassed to promote and that you would feel comfortable recommending to family and friends if you were asked.

You will do better if you promote things that you understand and are familiar with. That way you will be able to write better ads without having to strain yourself trying to come up with good things to say.

Only promote products and services for companies who have gone through the trouble to provide you with a training program and sales aids like banners, sample classified ads, and other marketing materials that you can either use directly or model yours after.

Look for programs with commission rates of no less than 50%. Give preference to programs that pay commissions on multiple levels. That means that you will also earn commissions on sales made by people who buy the product through your link and then go on to become an affiliate themselves.

Google the company and the product to see if the company has a good reputation and to see how many affiliate ads are already out there. If the competition is too stiff, find a different product to promote.

Once you have your product just write your ads and start promoting. Remember – NO SPAMMING!

Good luck and hope that you make a lot of money!

Jim is the owner of starting an online business website, where it is set up for helping people to make money with affiliate programs.

Finding Good Affiliate Programs Where Do I Start

Writen by Matt DeAngelis

When most people have a task to do, they usually do well once they get started, and finding affiliate programs for your site or blog is no exception — you just need a little kickstart to get your brain into the right mode.

There's a really easy way to get things started…go look at one of your competitors. There are tons of ways to do this — the easiest way would be to put your keyword(s) into Google and see what pops up.

The order of the results is based in good part on Google's PageRank, which has a lot to do with the number of other sites that link to a particular site.

Pick one of the results near the top and click on the link. Hover on a banner or text advertising box and see where the URL leads. Take note of the particular network such as Commission Junction, ClickBank, Linkshare, etc. and the particular programs on the site. I keep a list using Microsoft Notepad when I surf competitive sites for clients.

Most of the time I ignore CPM-based networks like DoubleClick or AdBrite, and contextual ad networks like Google and Yahoo. I do pay particular attention to the category affiliate network banners and text ads. For example, if you surf a few competitors and find a lot of banner advertising for web site hosting, that means your competitors are having at least some luck with website hosting affiliate programs.

When you come up with a good list of networks, programs and categories, go visit the networks that appear the most on the sites (try to go to 5 or 6 different sites so you can see any patterns that emerge).

You should now have a terrific list to start from, including a list of networks, programs and keywords. Now all you have to do is poke around and see which pay the best and try to figure out which your visitors might like.

While you're on the other sites, try to get a feel for where on the page the ads are placed, which can make a huge difference in clickthrough and conversion.

Is Your Affiliate Program Making You Money

Writen by Anna Barlow

Are you trying to make some extra money online with an affiliate program? Is your affiliate program actually making you money or is it just another in the long line of disappointing affiliate programs that haven't made you a dime?

If you just want to make an extra couple of hundred dollars per month or an extra $10,000 per month, here are some points to consider when choosing an affiliate program.

1. Commission. It must be a good commission rate so you're actually making a profit if you have advertising costs. I don't promote an affiliate program unless it pays me a minimum of 40% commission.

2. Support and Tools. Can you contact the management if you need help? Does the affiliate program provide tools to help you promote the product?

3. Competitions. Does the affiliate program run competitions to encourage affiliates to promote the product?

4. Regular commission payments. Does the program pay its affiliates on a regular basis? For example, every two weeks or every month?

5. Low refund rate. Does the affiliate program making money for its affiliates? Does it sell a good product? There's no point trying to promote a poorly designed product that has a large percentage of refunds because those refunds will cut into your commissions. Just imagine if you made ten sales for a total of $250 but one week later there were five refunds. Your commission just got cut by $125 (50%). Ouch!

If you keep the above tips in mind when considering the merits of an affiliate program, you may find an affiliate program that you can actually make money promoting.

Yes, it is possible to make money online with affiliate marketing. And it's not just the "gurus" who are doing it either. There are a lot of people quietly making anything from $200 to $10,000 per month with affiliate marketing. Their affiliate program is making them money. Is yours making you money?

Affiliate Programs Can Benefit From Google Ad Words

Writen by Donny Lowy

Google Ad Words is the name of the pay per click advertising program which allows affiliates, and other merchants, to advertise on Google and other sites in the Google network.

The program works by setting up a system in which the advertiser pays every time a visitor clicks on his ads.

Since the advertiser can select his bid amount, he is in effect controlling the amount of money he is spending to bring those visitors to his site.

You might wonder why every merchant doesn't simply bid the minimum amount so that they can keep their ad costs to a minimum.

Since the ads are shown in order of the highest bids first the advertiser with the highest bid will generally receive the most traffic.

Affiliates can utilize the Google Ad Words program to advertise their affiliate sites.

For this to work the affiliate would need to know how many visitors he needs to bring to the merchants site to obtain a sale.

He must then divide his commission by the number of visitors and he will know his breakeven point.

The affiliate would then want to bid below this amount for his traffic.

So if 100 visitors will produce a sale for the affiliate, and that sale produces a $25 commission, then the affiliate needs to spend under .25 per visitor to be profitable.

There are other pay per click search engines which affiliates can use to promote their affiliate sales.

Yahoo has recently started a similar program which can allow advertisers to promote their affiliate links by bidding for key words.

To make sure that the affiliate stays ahead of the game he needs to monitor the results of his advertising.

Things To Know About Affiliate Marketing

Writen by Bhikoo Rajesh

The truth behind affiliate marketing is the fact that 90% of affiliates will actually make less than 100$ a month. Therefore, you should not count on making full time income unless you can get very good at the following:

1. Building a good web site that converts.

2. Search engine optimization.

You'll need a lot of traffic, as maybe 1 out of 200 visitors will buy your products. Search engine optimization can help you get your site in the search engines so more people will be able to find you.

3. The trial and error of picking the right merchants and learning the correct ways to promote them.

Too many people out there assume that affiliate marketing is actually a get rich quick type of program. These types of people will throw up a couple of banners, then wonder why they never make a single sale or any money at all.

How long you will need to do it depends on how much money you are wanting to make. If you are a quick learner and really good at affiliate marketing, you may high 2,000 in 2 years. This is based on the fact that you are starting at 0 and the fact that you have another full time job, not being able to devote a lot of time working with your affiliate marketing program.

If you decide to give it a try, the hardest challenge will be the first few months. If you check your stats and see that you are only making a couple of bucks, you will find yourself wondering if all the hard work was worth it. If you get some sales going and stay committed with your hard work, the commissions should start growing.

One of the biggest factors with affiliate marketing is the traffic that goes through your site. Even though you will get a lot of traffic passing through your website, only a fraction of the traffic will be buyers.

The key here is knowing your visitors and then being able to determine which affiliate programs you can offer to meet their needs. There is also the concept of pre sale, which is the ability to put your visitors in the required open and mind set that is required for them to actually click on what you are selling.

By sticking with affiliate marketing, you will learn more and more over the years. You cannot expect to be the best when you first start, it will take a lot of hard work and dedication. By putting the time and effort into your programs, you will be well on your way to making it in the very profitable and exciting world of affiliate marketing.

Millionaire Affiliates Do They Exist

Writen by Christopher Kyalo

Millionaire affiliates not only exist, but the truth is that they are rapidly growing in number by the day.

One of the recent developments that has been most responsible for rapidly increasing the number of millionaire affiliates on the net has been the amazing rise of blogs.

In recent times we have seen many blogs launched that have rapidly built up their traffic within a very short time to end up with tens of thousands of hits daily. Some have risen to the level where they are doing over 100,000 page views daily. This is the sort of traffic where one can earn a lot of money from virtually any affiliate program. In other words high traffic quickly creates millionaire affiliates in no time at all. This is because all one needs to do is to find a couple of relevant affiliate programs to join and they are then guaranteed to attain millionaire status fairly quickly from their affiliate business.

The fact is that blogs have an uncanny ability to quickly accumulate high traffic links from other blogs and web sites. This not only rapidly builds up the direct traffic arriving at the blog, but it also guarantees a good position with search engine results which means even more traffic, this time coming directly from search engines. This is the reason why a rapidly increasing number of bloggers are quickly becoming millionaire affiliates.

Build A Website And Get Your Feet Wet In Affiliate Marketing

Writen by Vickie Scanlon

If you want to have a business online, you need to build a website. A website helps to promote your products, as well as, identifies you on the Internet. When I created my website, I went on the premise of "wanting to learn how to do it" as I experience the essence of building my business. I realize now, that even though I learned quite a bit, it did slow my progress down. Read on, I'll tell you want I mean.

A Little History First

After attempting to do typing on the Internet -- you're right --my first newbie scam. It wasn't a true scam, because I was paid. However, I put in long hours for very, very little pay. Does that read green, naive newbie all over it? Yes, I'm afraid it does.

Needless to say, I gave that up and began looking for something that would give me a viable income -- affiliate marketing was the answer. Thus, my adventure began.

Getting a Web host and Domain

Well, after much reading, I realized I needed to get a web host and a domain if I was looking for a long-haul attempt at making it in affiliate marketing. I found a pretty good web host, paid for my domain -- And, now I was ready to build my website...

My first advise here is -- If you are inexperienced in web construction and you want a quick presence online, I would go with a web host that has web tools which includes Site Studio. It saves you time, money and gets you up and moving quickly.

Building My Website

I decided to use FrontPage (with a dash of HTML) to create my website -- in my first attempt. Well, my first attempt was beyond words -- no one wanted to hurt my feelings -- the website was beyond bad and the color was what I call Medicine Yellow. But I was still in the glow, and I must say, working with blinders on. (This was my first mistake, my knowledge was limited -- I should have utilized Site Studio that was available to me.)

Needless to say, my first attempt did not stay up long. I went back to work, restructuring my ugly site -- my second attempt. I changed the color to a dark green with a base of gray. At the time it looked good, I thought. I actually got, "you're improving" from a friend. But somehow, it looked, well -- downtrodden.

Third restructuring came when -- after a year, I came upon an article that stated, "if you are using Times Roman -- even though it is easy to read, it reads amateur all over it." My first internal thought was, "Crap, I've got to do my website over again."

So, once again, I began restructuring my site. This time around, I decided to go with a lighter green for my website (just as well, I was going to have to change everything anyway), revamped by Google Ads (4 times), and changed the lettering to "Arial".

By the way, it has been said that either "Georgia" or "Arial" are the two fonts that will give your website a professional look. And you know -- they were right. After changing from "Times Roman" to "Arial" -- it gave my website a cleaner and more professional look.

Color as well, is important to your website -- it is part of your total presentation of your site to prospective visitors. How important is color -- if they don't like it, they are just a click away from removing your site from their vision.

After all the overhauling and tweaking of my website, I believe it is now presentable, brighter and personable to my visitors.

However, I, as well as you, should realize that you are never done with your website. You should always be looking at ways to improve the appearance, products, and service available to your visitors.

Becoming An Affiliate

You cannot be an affiliate marketer without affiliate products. With that being said, you can start your journey as an affiliate marketer by looking at the following sites for items that fit your theme and of which you can make a commission.

Commission Junction

ClickBank

BeFree

Now, don't be disappointed if some of the vendors turn you down in the beginning -- after you have your website up for a while, you will find that some vendors will be dropping you an email and requesting that you sell their product for them. It's flattering, however, be sure that you can blend it nicely into your website theme.

Getting Your Feet Wet

The water may be cold, tepid, or hot -- it depends on your skill level when you begin your journey online (I believe my feet were in the cold phase when I started) -- but you have to get your feet wet. Do your research, get all your ducks in a roll, and begin your journey. If you sit on the fence too long, you will never jump in.

Get what Internet tools you can, read all that you can, and stay positive, even if it means you have to step away from your computer for a day or two to regroup your thoughts.

As you can see from my experience, I jumped in, had some setbacks, some disappoints, but also some individual triumphs. The most important thing to remember is to close your mind to your own negative thoughts, and the negative words of those around you. Why? They can cripple you, and slow or even end your journey toward success.

If you know in your gut, that what you are doing will succeed --say nothing -- just keep on keeping on. Soon, the naysayers will be saying something positive.

Finding The Perfect Affiliate Program

Writen by Shanon Lewis

Finding a good affiliate program can be sometimes daunting and overwhelming task, but it doesn't have to be. Luckily the web is filled with excellent resources for identifying the best affiliate programs. Here are a few tips for finding your dream program:

1. Ask the Experts

Expert affiliate marketers are readily available on many industry forums, including affcommunity.com. These forums feature not only the latest information on affiliate marketing, but also tips on which programs to join and how to promote them effectively.

2. Learn the Lingo

Affiliate programs have their own lingo for breaking down what you will be paid, when and how. A quick guide is below:

CPA – Cost per acquisition, pays when a customer is acquired.
CPM – Cost per impression, pays based on the number of impressions from banners.
CPC – Cost per click, pays every time a person clicks on the link.
% - revenue share, pays based on a percentage of revenue from each sale.
Threshold – Minimum commission needed for a check to be cut.

Each type has its benefits depending on how much effort you want to put into promotion.

3. Poll Your Traffic

After all, your visitors will ultimately dictate your success with an affiliate program. Be sure to get a pulse for what they like and provide products and services that match those needs. If you have a way to communicate users (newsletter, forums, etc. ) ask them what things interest them. You can also check your web stats to see what keyphrases are most popular.

4. Find a Great Resource

Just because a program is listed as the "best" doesn't mean that it is. Find a directory resource that only lists quality, legitimate programs, such as affiliateprograms.com. Most directories only list the owners 2nd tier programs, which make them money when you click to sign-up. There is no guarantee that it will produce or that you won't get scammed.

Making the leap from web spectator to business promoter is an important business decision. Think of every program you join as a mutual partnership. The support and services your affiliate program can offer is a huge part of your success.

Shanon Lewis is a web marketing specialist with over 7 years of search engine placement, e-mail marketing and affiliate management experience. She is part of the expert team at affiliateprograms.com, the premiere affiliate programs directory online.

How An Affiliate Program Can Help Build Your Online Business Cheaper Than Advertising

Writen by Janet Meiners

An Affiliate Program Can Help Your Business

Every business owner is looking for ways to sell more product or services. No matter how large the staff or the budgets, it can be a daunting task. You may cover some areas very well while others are not reaching their full potential.

As internet marketing matures, it's more expensive and difficult to attract attention online. As more and more web users become blind to regular advertising, you need to find other ways to approach marketing.

Start an Affiliate Marketing Program

An affiliate marketing program can help you fill in the gaps that exist in your business. Run well, affiliates typically bring in 20% of your total online revenues. An affiliate program is an online referral system. You set up a program individuals or other companies can join. They get a unique URL that can be tracked. You pay them a finder's fee or a commission on each sale they send to your business. You provide the ads ands support which your affiliates use to market to their audience.

Affiliates typically use email lists, web sites, banner, pay-per-click, search engine optimization, and text ads to market your products. These are internet marketing tools you should already use. If you don't, an affiliate program is a great way to "outsource" those tasks. You won't have to hire a bigger sales force. Affiliates upfront the costs and help you extend your reach online.

The first thing a business should do to start an affiliate program is to find someone to run your program. You can hire or outsource this task. However, to truly be successful you'll need an affiliate manager on staff. Affiliates won't take your program seriously if you don't. If you truly partner with your affiliates, both your business, and the affiliates who represent it, can benefit.

These are some basic benefits of having an affiliate program. Sound hard? It's not really. But it does take time to learn and perfect. It's more than I can cover in this article. The subject is covered well in Module 2 of The Affiliate Manager - How to Build and Manage an Unstoppable Online Sales Force. The entire course is invaluable. It's the closest thing to a college course in affiliate managing. I highly recommend it.

Free Ebooks Equal Free Money

Writen by Scott Patterson

Do you know the secret to making money with affiliate marketing?

Many smart affiliate marketers earn revenue by creating free special reports (or ebooks) that discuss a specific topic. These guides contain links to high-paying affiliate products. So whenever someone reads a free ebook and purchases product from an affiliate link, the marketer earns a sales commission.

But what if you don't know how to find a topic for your free ebook?

If this is the case, here is a tutorial that will help you get started with your free money-making ebook.

As you probably know, affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to generate revenue from an Internet business. Unfortunately, it is hard to get people to purchase from an affiliate link. Many times, they go to your website and check out your information. Then most of them leave without purchasing products through an affiliate link.

The problem is you haven't had time to explain to them the value of the products you are recommending.

The solution is you can create a guide that discusses a hot topic related to your product. In this report, you discuss the topic and then provide a solution to the major problem that that is experienced by your readers. Obviously the affiliate product will be the solution to their problems.

So how do you write one of these special reports?

In truth, it is very easy to write a 5-15 page special report that is in high demand by readers, while having a potential for a high affiliate income.

The first step is to look for a topic.

One of the best ways to discover a good topic is to explore forums that cater to your niche or product. Then read up on topics that people have posted. Many people will post comments on forums looking for answers to particular problems. All you need to do is find a topic where you can easily create at least five pages of content.

The next step is to find a related affiliate product.

Most of the time, somebody has already created a product that provides a solution to the problem that people are having. All you have to do is look for this product and become an affiliate. The best part is most affiliate programs have marketing material which you can use to help create your content.

After looking at the forum and support material, you can easily create your special report.

In this free ebook, you will discuss the topic in general terms. You will talk about the problem and ways they can find the solution. Your content will focus on the pain they are experiencing from this problem. Then mention the solution to their problem which is your affiliate product. In your special report, you want to provide useful information while gently persuading the reader to check out your affiliate link.

The key is to talk about the benefits of using the product, without being too pushy or salesy. Most affiliate products have a sales page, so you can leave the convincing to the referral site. As long as you do a good job pre-selling your readers on that particular product, they will arrive at the site ready to buy.

Free ebooks or special reports are a great way to earn long-term affiliate income because they can be easily distributed and provide quality value to the reader. As long as you focus on creating good content for your reader, you will see your affiliate revenue increase.

Scott J. Patterson is the author of free brandable ebooks and guides that you can distribute for affiliate revenue. To learn more, check out the following link.

Casual Cash Make Money From Adsense Amp Froogle

Writen by Randy Henson

I was searching to web for ways to make money on the internet. As I was looking at scam after scam I noticed an article on some webmaster message board about Google Adsense and how there was money to be made with Adsense. So not knowing much about building web pages I put together a very simple web page and bought a crappy domain name. I proceeded to submit it to all the major search engines and every link directory that I could find. I thought to my self, "Ok I can set back and watch the money roll in". A week rolled by and the site received 10 visitors. A month went by and the received 119 visitors. I had made about 40 cents so I said, "Screw It" and forgot all about the site.

Over the next couple months I spent all my free time learning about designing web site, graphic design, promoting, and anything dealing with running a web site. During my many hours of brain numbing searching I came across some very useful sites and some not so useful sites well that's what I thought at the time anyway. One of those not so useful sites was froogle.com. I book marked it thanking that I might use it to find my next computer or something. Surprise Surprise I did use froogle.com to find my new computer. I went to froogle and typed in "Laptop computer AMD" when the search results came up I noticed a pull down menu to said, Sort Results By. One of the options was lowest to highest and being kinda hard up for money I choose that option. To make I long story sort "" I had a brain storm""

Ok, My brain storm Being that most of the country is hard up for money I thought that most people probably uses the lowest to highest option on froogle.com. So if I could get a product to list on the first page of that option on froogle. I could get a lot of quick relevant traffic. So I thought to myself "What can I sell" As I was thinking I remembered that I had came across a drop shipping company dealing in novelty lighters. So I did a little research first I went to http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/` to get an idea of how many times people search for novelty lighters. Second I went to froogle and did a search for novelty lighters. Through my froogle search I found that I would have to price the lighters at about one dollar to get them on the first page. So I threw together a very simple page with Adsense ads and priced some of the lighters at one dollar. I then submitted them to froogle. It took about five days to get listed but I got instant results. The first day my site was listed I received 20 hits from froogle. I know that does not sound like a lot but you must consider all the variables. Here's the numbers.

Overture said that there was around 1300 searches for novelty light in one month. 1300 searches over 30 days = 44 searches a day. So I got almost half of the people that search for novelty lighters for that day

So I let the page go for about a month and then I check my adsense acount. My account had made $15 dollars from my lighter page. So I made ten more simple pages and bought ten more domain names. Then I bought one of those ebooks that said It had a list of drop shippers. While it didn't I tried and tried and I finely found a real list of drop shippers. So I picked ten different kinds of products, dvd players, Xbox games, play station games, tvs, tools, computers, mp3 players, cell phones, game cube, and Video Camcorders. These are all highly search for items and the traffic that I was receiving from froogle reflected that. For the month of October my 11 sites earned just a little over 2000 dollars from Adsense. All the traffic came from Froogle.com

Step By Step
1. Find a list of drop shippers.
2. Pick a product and buy a domain name to fit the product.
3. Design or buy a design for your web site.
4. Find a place to host your web site
5. Sign up for Google Adsense.
6. Place Adsense ads on your web site
7. Upload your web site to your host
8. Sign up and submit your products to froogle.com

My tips to success
1. You must pick a domain name that is relevant to the products your selling
2. Use Overture to find highly searched for products
3. Make sure to price products to rank high in froogle results
4. Make sure your sites content is relevant to your products.
5. Make sure you can make a profit from your product. If you would happen to sell one and you will sell one

Are Affiliates Not Social

Writen by Carsten Cumbrowski

This question could be extended by "and internet marketers in general". The answer to that question was widely believed to be "Yes".

The Misconception
People tend to think of an Affiliate as a tech savvy geek that spends day and night to find ways to promote a big merchant and make big bucks via the commission earned for the sales made by the referred customers; a person that is very protective about everything he does, that generates at least a few sales or leads. You probably also thought of the people that run the Affiliate Program for a Merchant, who are called Affiliate Managers or short AM's, are snobby suits that try to use the legions of their affiliates to generate easy money for their employers.Socializing would almost be unthinkable if this is true. Who is going to socialize with his maid? Right?

This picture of affiliates and their counterpart on the merchant side seems to be a misconception that might be true only in some rare cases.

It did not took very long after affiliate programs became more and more popular that Affiliate Forums emerged, especially when Amazon.com launched their Affiliate Program (Amazon called it Associate Program) in 1996 which allowed instant signup and approval for anybody and his uncle in combination with the growing trend of creating personal home pages on free hosters like Geo Cities.

Early Communities, Forums
Forums like the AssociatePrograms.com Forum , RevBoard, ABestWeb, Affiliate Boards and Affiliate Marketing Forum at WebProWorld were frequented by affiliates using nick names or just the first name to exchange general information about programs, commissions and that sort of things.

Posting of Affiliate Site URL's was a "don't do it" rule although most forums did not specifically prohibited the posting of links, if related to the discussed topic. Some had the rule not to post somebody else's Affiliate URL. The fear for copy cats and the potential loss of hard earned commissions was wide spread and sometimes also well founded. Anything that was giving hints to the identity of the affiliate and it's website was avoided by most members in the public forum areas.

That affiliates are social could already be seen in the "off topic" or "midnight chat" sections of the Affiliate Marketing Forums, if such a category was available. Towards the end of last year sites started to emerge that supported and even encouraged social mingling between affiliates and also affiliate managers and networks.

The New Trend, Social Netwoks
At the end of December 2005 launched the social site ReturnOnAffiliate.com (short RoA). RoA is a social community site following the trend of general social sites like MySpace.com, but was created solely for People in the Affiliate Marketing Industry. If it would be correct, that the people in that industry, especially the affiliates, are not social, sites like RoA would vanish quickly because of lack of users to support it.

This is not the case, quite the opposite. RoA grew it's member base within 3 month to over 2,000. Of course is a lot of the communication related to internet marketing, but the communication goes far beyond that.Personal Information and thoughts are shared in public message boards, special interest groups, blogs and mail. Every member has also his own blog, message board, book mark collection and can create freely new groups for others to join. Members that disguise their origin and blog their personal pages are the exception.

Another example for an Affiliate Marketing Community site is the Affiliate Summit 2006 East Social Network created for the attendees of the Affiliate Summit Conference which will be held in Florida on July 9-11 later this year.

Fazit
I am convinced, that this trend will continue in the years to come and have a major impact on the affiliate marketing industry. Connecting through social networks allows marketers to get to know each other much better and help with the creation of new professional and personal relationships.

Problems between merchants and affiliates will probably solved much quicker and easier without escalating as much as they used to in the past, because instead of Affiliate xxx having a problem with yyy, John has a problem with the Merchant Jane is working for.

If you ask yourself the question, who would you rather do business with, the one you don't know or the one you can associate a face with and know personally through interactions on community sites? If the business reasons are not overwhelmingly leaning towards one of them, I would go with the one I know personally. Business is much easier and enjoyable if you do it with a "him" or "her" and not an "it". See you soon at an Internet Marketing Community Site.

15 Reasons To Join Affilite Programs

Writen by Hassan Sarsour

There are HUGE benefits to promoting affiliate programs with your own homebased Internet business. Let's look at 15 of the best reasons to join affiliate programs.

  1. No Production Costs: The cost to develop and produce a new product is prohibitive for almost anyone who wants to start a home-based business. With affiliate programs, production costs aren't an issue. The product has been developed and proven - all on the merchant's nickel.

  2. Low Cost Set-up: Compared with building a brick and mortar store, starting a home-based Internet business is relatively cheap. You probably already have a desk, Internet-connected computer and word-processing software, which is all the equipment you may need to start making easy money from affiliate programs.

  3. No Fees or Licenses: I often compare doing business as an affiliate, with distributing a line of products in the real world. The biggest difference is that the distributor must often pay for a license to distribute products within a limited geographic region. Affiliate programs, on the other hand, are usually free to join, and geographic market reach is limited only by the affiliate's ability to promote his website.

  4. Sell Almost Anything: What isn't sold online? That list must be shorter than the one describing all that IS sold online. There are thousands and thousands of affiliate programs selling every product under the sun. That makes it easy to find products related to your current or planned web site.

  5. No Sales Experience Required: When I started my affiliate business, I had absolutely no sales experience. That wasn't a problem, however. The companies I affiliated with provided excellent marketing material. Using their sales copy, I was able to get my first affiliate site up in less than a day.

  6. No Employees: Employee salaries are the biggest business expense. Although you may need or want someone to work for you on occasion, you'll never have to worry about hiring full or part-time employees while working as an affiliate marketer.

When you have a project you want to hire out, it is easy to find specialists in every computer-related field who can work for you from the comfort of THEIR own homes. You pay only for the project, and never have to worry about ongoing employeerelated benefits and deductions.

  7. No Merchant Accounts: Setting up a merchant account is time-consuming and costly. However, affiliate marketers don't need merchant account. Merchants bear all the costs for payment processing. As an affiliate, you'll never lose sleep over chargebacks, fraud or losing your merchant account.

  8. No Inventory: As an affiliate marketer, you can sell large items without storage concerns, even if you live in a small one-bedroom apartment.

  9. No Order-Processing: Forget the problems associated with collecting and storing names, addresses, credit card numbers, etc. The merchant does all that!

  10. No Shipping: The cost and hassle to prepare and ship products to customers worldwide could be staggering. Affiliates never have to worry about packaging supplies or postal rates.

  11. No Customer Service: Do you hate the prospect of dealing with nasty people or customer complaints? Don't worry about it! The merchant handles the snivelers.

  12. Make Money While You Sleep: What other business allows you as a sole proprietor to keep your doors open and keep making money even when you take breaks or after you go home for the night?

  13. Worldwide Marketplace: The Internet is the world's largest marketplace. You can drive more visitors to your online store in a day, than a small-town merchant will see in his or her brick and mortar business in a year.

  14. Minimal Risk: The product you chose isn't making money? Dump it. Take down your links and promote another! It's that easy. There are no long-term contracts binding you to products that don't sell.

  15. High Income Potential: If you have a job, your salary or hourly wage is probably pre-determined. Maybe there's not much, other than working overtime, that you can do to increase your income. With your own affiliate business on the Internet your income potential is limited only by your desire, effort and imagination.
No other business is so inexpensive to start yet offers such high profit potential without investing years of labor.

Affiliate programs enable you to work from Almost Anywhere in the World!

Best Wishes.

5 Ways To Gain A Resellers Edge

Writen by Edmund Loh

Are you into Resell Rights? So are the thousands of other people in the Internet marketplace! Here, I share with you 5 power tips on how you can gain an edge over other resellers. Here goes:

[1] Study your competitors who are selling the same Resell Rights product as you do.

Find out what MOST of them do to market the product. You might do well to do otherwise. Avoid the "herd mentality" where possible.

[2] If you have a flair for writing, you can edit the principal's sales letter, a privilege that affiliates don't have.

You can throw in more bonuses and incentives for your prospects to purchase from you.

Nowadays, potential customers do take the trouble to do comparison-shopping before purchasing, especially if he is going to purchase a Resell Rights product.

[3] You can bundle a package of Resell Rights products and sell at a reasonable price.

Be sure that all of the products are up-to-date (not more than 2years old) and are of the same theme.

[4] Create a new digital product in YOUR name and package the Resell Rights product into your product to add value.

This is possible because most Resell Rights product authors allow you to package their products so long as their Resell Rights terms and conditions state so.

[5] You can add your own Thank You Note and an advertisement of your own into the Reseller Materials Pack if the product you are selling have Master Resell Rights, allowing your customer to resell to others and keep all the profits.

This is another viral method of spreading the good word of other products or services you sell or are an affiliate of.

Having A Website And Not Using Adsense

Writen by Jean Lam

I received an email from a subscriber telling me he is promoting affiliate products on his website and since I've sent the AdSense Videos offer, he's interested to put AdSense on his site but not too sure for fear of losing affiliate business.

I've been using AdSense along with affiliate products for quite awhile and I haven't noticed any significant decrease in affiliate earnings. AdSense is an important revenue stream and I simply think you're losing money each day if you're not using AdSense. Even if you're not too much into it, use it to cover your hosting fees.

Here is good way to start implementing AdSense. Build a website around a topic you're interested in but make your keyword research first at

http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion http://www.wordtracker.com

Avoid using keywords that have too many searches per month or per day because this means they are really competitive.

Then you can put a few affiliate products on your website. Browse the ClickBank Marketplace for all types of products you can promote at http://www.clickbank.com/marketplace and get related content from sites like http://www.ezinearticles.com and http://www.articlebiz.com

Next, get a few links to your website and get it indexed. Of course, you need to promote your website and acquire more and more links to have a decent ranking in the major search engines for your primary keyword phrases. In the meantime, you can receive a few visitors from some search engine queries because content on your site are rich in keywords.

AdSense is partly a numbers game. The more websites and pages you have running AdSense, the more chances in earning more revenue. But it's better to learn all you can about AdSense to get the most out of it because this will reflect in your income. I know some people still struggling with AdSense because they don't really know the ins and outs and also how to implement it effectively and lucratively for eg keywords, content, ad placement, ad layout. They also need to treat AdSense more like a business rather than like a hobby.

This article can be freely published on a website as long as it's not modified in any way including the author bylines, plus all the hyperlinks must be made active just like below.

3 Things All Affiliate Marketers Need To Survive Online Today

Writen by Larry Chretien

The best course of action to take sometimes isn't clear until you've listed and considered your alternatives. The following paragraphs should help clue you in to what the experts think is significant.

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication. There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.

What are these three tactics?

1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

If you find yourself confused by what you've read to this point, don't despair. Everything should be crystal clear by the time you finish.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word "free" because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before even anyone reading them first. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that is focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day. Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do. Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving…

If you've picked some pointers about affiliate marketing that you can put into action, then by all means, do so. You won't really be able to gain any benefits from your new knowledge if you don't use it.

Affiliate Marketing Idea That Is Used To Make Tens Of Thousands Of Dollars

Writen by Christopher Kyalo

Successful affiliate marketing is all about idea generation. Ideas are what makes the difference between an affiliate earning a couple of hundred dollars annually and one earning over a hundred thousand on a consistent monthly basis.

It is really all about ideas. One idea alone can lift your affiliate marketing efforts to a level where your revenue and income will be exploding. A couple of ideas can get you to the moon.

The following affiliate marketing idea has done just that for numerous affiliates who have made an effort to carefully implement it.

It works only with affiliate programs that pay out commissions to second tier sub-affiliates that you recruit. The idea is to concentrate most of your efforts in recruiting sub affiliates under you. It helps if the affiliate you are marketing has a good landing page that converts well for new affiliate sign ups. The idea is to recruit hundreds or even thousands of affiliate marketing sub affiliates under you. Say you manage 1000 affiliates who on average give you just $100 each in second tier sub affiliate commissions every month. That is already an income of $100,000 and this is the affiliate marketing idea used by the big boys to earn those huge sic figure checks every month.

Which Affiliate Program Is Right For You

Writen by Michael Russell

There are a great variety of options available for placing advertising on your website. It can be a very confusing process to pick the one that is right for you. There is no one solution that will work best for everyone. Therefore, it is wise to consider what type of programs will work best for the visitors to your site. This is a difficult question to answer. So, below are brief descriptions of various types of programs available as well as examples of websites they would work well with.

The first type we will look at is the PPS or Pay Per Sale program. This type of program is the closest you will find to the traditional salesman earning a commission by selling your product. Bestbuy.com, Buy.com, Amazon.com and many others offer a pay per sale program which gives their affiliates anywhere from 2-15% commissions on any sales that they make. The pay per sale program works well with informational sites as long as the product you are selling is linked closely to the demographic of your particular site.

One example of this would be a site dedicated to scuba diving. This scuba diving site would feature information about the best places for scuba diving and perhaps offer review of the newest scuba diving equipment. After you review a new product, you could place a specific affiliate link to that product on an online retailer's store. You would get a good conversion and click-through rate by going this route.

Another example would be an affiliate based site which sells electronics. A lot of pay per sale affiliates offer data feeds for all of their products which are available through their online retail outlet. With these feeds, you can build an affiliate based online store of your own selling their products. There are a lot of software packages available to assist in automating the building of affiliate sites around data feeds.

Many times online retail establishments run their own affiliate programs. However, there are other places to find these types of programs. Two of the best affiliate networks for this are Commission Junction and LinkShare.

The next type of program we will consider is the PPL or Pay Per Lead program. These programs pay you for sending lead information to an online company. These leads can vary greatly in the amount of information given. They may include only one or two fields such as an email address or zip code. They can also be as in-depth as extensive financial data need for loan or credit card applications. The programs with the highest conversion rates are the ones that require the least amount of personal information. If your site's audience is not prepared to purchase something online, then these programs may work well for you. They tend to convert well on freebie sites such as getBANK.net as well as informational sites. Here are some examples of affiliate networks to get pay per lead programs: PrimaryAds, AzoogleAds, AffiliateFuel, BulletAds.

The third program to be discussed is the CPM or Pay Per Impression program. These programs are best for sites with high traffic levels. It is not recommended that you use these sites alone, because PPS and PPL programs tend to be more profitable. However, CPM programs do offer an incredible chance to increase your site's cash flow when used along with PPS and PPL programs. They are also a great way to diversify your site's income stream. One of the best CPM affiliate networks is FastClick.

The final program is contextual advertising. Almost any site can benefit from contextual advertising. Contextual advertising is a great way to complement your current advertising and to provide an additional source of income. They are also a wonderful way of diversifying your site's income stream. Google AdSense is an excellent contextual advertising network to check out. Usually a site will achieve best results by employing a combination of these various types of affiliate advertising. You must experiment not only with these various programs, but also with individual offers to figure out the best combination for your site.

Affiliates And Blogger Safety

Writen by Karen Kari

We've all heard stories about teenagers meeting dangerous people in chat rooms. The scary crossroads where people take web conversations and relationships to the offline world. But people who are now beginning to add postings to blogs often forget that over time, they might give out too many personal details about themselves that once combined, could put themselves in potential danger.

What does this have to do with affiliate sites? Many affiliates are in the process of setting up blogs as a way for their niche communities to share information, opinions, product reviews and the like. Once some people become comfortable on such a site, they begin relating their experiences and may let down their guard and reveal too much personal information. When you create a blog, it's a good idea to remind people that personal information can be accumulated and used in identity theft and threats to personal safety.

Some tips to share: Use first names or nicknames, but don't give anyone your full name. If revealing your location is relevant to the discussion, don't give your exact address or clues to the location of your home or office. While you know to never give your credit card or social security numbers, also don't reveal license plates, boat registration numbers, tax ID or any other identifying numbers. Birthdays, graduation dates or service discharge dates should never be revealed. Photos are not a great idea for adults, but never post photos of your or anyone else's children. A big dog, however, isn't a bad idea!

The Strategies And Techniques On How To Succeed As A Super Affiliate Immediately

Writen by Seth Chong

The following article includes pertinent information that may cause you to reconsider what you thought you understood. The most important thing is to study with an open mind and be willing to revise your understanding if necessary.

Being a successful affiliate relies very much on focusing - focusing in out-doing all the other average affiliates and becoming a super affiliate instead. The lack of focus can result in a lot of negative outcome. There are few things that an affiliate needs to take caution of:

1. Affiliate marketing is not a get rich quick scheme

It is just like the other businesses – you need to put in effort, you need to have hard work in order for you to establish the business, but with the easiest and lowest risk in history. There's no guarantee that you will earn a big fortune overnight, or even days, weeks, months or years.

In fact, it's not certain whether you will make any money at all. Working as an affiliate marketer, you need to think logically – that you can't turn into a millionaire overnight. You will, however get to reach that goal long term, especially when you build your list.

2. Lack of will and desire

Many affiliates tend to give up on selling a product because they either can't make any sales at all, or the amount of money earned is too small. The lack of will to work harder and the unwillingness to desire for better results will easily lead to their downfall.

One's desire to succeed in anything will lead him to his goal – that's certain. Unless it is something that is not humanly capable of or something harmful, anything that states a record of human success is achievable. If you want to be a super affiliate, desire deeper than anyone to succeed in being one.

You may not consider everything you just read to be crucial information about Affiliate Marketing. But don't be surprised if you find yourself recalling and using this very information in the next few days.

3. Distracted by environment

Do you have any environmental distractions around when you are doing your work as an affiliate marketer? It can be anything - the TV, radio and cell phones are a few of the strongest distractions. If you want to relax - set your own time, let's say 20 minutes maximum but after that force yourself to get back to work.

Another effective way for you to limit yourself from distraction is working out a time table and work according to your schedule. Anything you do, work depending on the time table so you won't be lost.

4. Distracted by other products

Anyone who is involved in the Internet marketing will be affected by this distraction – they'll keep buying different products, thinking that it is the "answer" to solve their needs which is very, very wrong.

If you ever see products that sound too miraculous – forget it. The practical way of working hard for success is your only way. Of course, working hard doesn't mean that you should do everything. You can outsource the smaller jobs to people and keep yourself accomplishing the more important tasks.

5. Laziness

The killer disease for any tasks, any jobs. This of course, doesn't need any explanation. The only cure is to have a strong will in working hard – that's it.

There's a lot to understand about Affiliate Marketing. We were able to provide you with some of the facts above, but there is still plenty more to write about in subsequent articles.

Yahoo Publisher Adsense Profits With Affiliate Marketing

Writen by TD Gunnerson

Are you a webmaster who needs funds to keep your website running? Or is your website the only way for you to earn income? Whichever you are, for as long as you are a webmaster or a web publisher and you need cash, affiliate marketing may work well for you. With affiliate marketing, you may get a lot of cash pouring into your bank account easily. And if your website is rich in great contents and you want to earn more profit, why not get into the Yahoo Publisher Adsense program as well?

Why Affiliate Marketing?

Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the easiest and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman's products on your site. But even online retailers can benefit from affiliate marketing programs, because affiliate marketing actually works for merchants as well as it works for the affiliates.

Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant's website and the other being the affiliate's site. In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate's site. The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into. This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer's ad on his site. This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products.

Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site. A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

What about Yahoo Publisher Adsense?

Yahoo Publisher Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program. In Yahoo Publisher Adsense, Yahoo.com act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants. The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Yahoo and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products. These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser's website, would then appear on Yahoo searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Yahoo Publisher Adsense program.

While one can find a lot of similarities between Yahoo Publisher Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences. In Yahoo Publisher Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Yahoo takes care of the rest. The ads that Yahoo would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site. This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised.

The Yahoo Publisher Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis. The advertisers would pay Yahoo a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Yahoo would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Yahoo have deducted their share of the amount. Yahoo Publisher Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly. Also, the Yahoo Publisher Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.

So, where do all of these lead us to?

Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits! Affiliate marketing programs and the Yahoo Publisher Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate. For the merchant's side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms. For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites. And if you combine all your profits from both the Yahoo Publisher Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.

Heres Why Affiliate Marketing Is So Lucrative

Writen by Jason Gazaway

There are people who think of the world as a dreary place simply because they do not find their existence charming enough to render them contented. There are those who wish that they have more than what they possess. There are those who are sick and tired of working hard yet end up having nothing better. There are those who curse the humdrum existence of having 9–5 jobs that do not give them personal and professional growth. Still these are others who want to earn money without sweating it out too much.

These are the ultimate reasons why more and more people are succumbing to affiliate marketing, one of the many money-making systems that are conceived as a result of the popularity the internet has been generating since it came into being. Since the internet is one of the media with which to view the world and interact with people without getting up from one's seat, it has become one of the most important channels with which to sell a merchant's products and wares.

This is the reason why affiliate marketing thrives as a result of the internet's popularity. The products and wares which the internet markets get the necessary exposure needed to sell well. This is where the fact that affiliate marketing is a lucrative business comes in. What is intended to be sold is sold because the internet is the best place to sell all these merchandise without the merchant giving too much of an effort to sell them per se.

How does affiliate marketing generate money? The way affiliate marketing works is so simple one would have difficulty believing how such a scheme is able to generate cash. In affiliate marketing, one is introduced to a system where an affiliate, the one who owns the website, agrees to display and advertise other websites that belong, in turn, to a merchant.

The merchant is the one who hopes to generate sales through the affiliate's promotion of his website. Once these links are clicked on by other people and a purchase is made, the merchant pays the affiliate a commission. It is by simply promoting other websites through his own that an affiliate is able to earn money for himself in the easiest manner possible.

The principle involved in affiliate marketing can be compared to the type of species interaction in ecology called mutualism where interaction between two species allows both of them to derive benefit from the situation without harming each other. The result is a relationship that allows them to coexist in harmony in the community where they both move. Affiliate marketing allows affiliates to get paid in recognition of what they were able to contribute to the process. Merchants, in turn, are able to have their products advertised and ultimately sold through the efforts provided by the affiliate.

The reason why products advertised by affiliates through their websites generate a lot of sales is because the number of people using the internet is growing every minute. Each and every merchandise advertised through this medium gets all the attention that it could possibly need to be able to convince someone that it is worth the try. This is the ultimate reason why there is money in affiliate marketing. The more links a website promotes, the more chance sales will be generated. The more sales generated, the happier the merchant, and the happier the merchant, the better it is for the affiliate both professionally and financially.

Those who have indulged in affiliate marketing have reached goals and dreams which they were not able to realize under ordinary circumstances. There are even those who have skyrocketed to the top simply because they have dedicated all their time and effort to perfecting their knowledge about this business without even a bit of hesitation. One can be sure of the fact that there is money in affiliate marketing. He only has to cope with the fact that it is impossible to generate riches in this business overnight.

Well, not really. All he has to do is to learn everything that he possibly could about the industry which he is in. If he is able to master everything concerning the tricks of the trade, then everything will follow suit.

Affiliate Marketing Do You Have What It Takes To Be Successful

Writen by Derrick VanDyke

The truth is that 99% of all affiliates make less than $100 a month, while the other 1% earn staggering incomes from affiliate marketing.

The difference lies in the way these two groups perceive affiliate marketing as a business model. Those who make good money view it as a real business, while others see it as a "get-rich-quick" scheme and consequently, never make any money.

Much of your success will depend on your attitude and your ability to stay focused and not give in to fears of failure. Failure can not be an option. You have to visualize and expect success. Otherwise, it may never materialize.

If you can answer "Yes" to the following questions, then you have what it takes to be a successful affiliate marketer:

  • Do you have the patience and persistence required to build an affiliate business?
  • Can you accept the fact that you will make mistakes and may even lose money at first?
  • Do you understand that it takes time to build a real business and you will not get rich overnight?
  • Are you willing to invest time into your continuing education?
  • Are you willing to invest time and money into advertising and tools to build your affiliate business?

You can make an absolute killing in affiliate marketing, but it will take some work. And if you're just starting out, you have a lot to learn. But as your knowledge and skills increase, so will your income.   You will almost certainly make mistakes along the way, but you can't give up. Just learn from your mistakes and move on.   Right now, you have two choices:

1. You can take the plunge and start building a real business online... Or

2. You can keep looking for that "magic bullet" that will make you rich overnight without you lifting a finger.   Unless you win the lottery, there is no legal business model that will make rich overnight. If you find one, let me know...

Think about this: if you had started three months ago, what would your monthly income be right now? What will it be three months from now?

The 3 Things Every Successful Affiliate Marketer Needs

Writen by Matt OConnor

Although affiliate marketing is touted as one of the easiest and most effective ways to earn money online, it is not as easy as it sounds. The wise affiliate marketer plans every action and executes it the best way he can. He should also maximize the potential to earn by utilizing the right tools necessary for a successful Affiliate Marketing business. We have consulted some of the most successful affiliate marketers in the business and below are the top three necessary tools for a successful affiliate marketing business.

Important Tool #1: Your Own Website

The most important and indispensable tool in Affiliate Marketing is your own website. The first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a good, credible and professional looking website. Your website is the jump off point of all your marketing efforts. Thus, you must first build a user-friendly website, which will appeal to your prospects and encourage them to click on the links to the products and service you are promoting and make a purchase. Therefore, you must first concentrate your efforts in building a website that will cater to what your prospects need.

The most important thing you should consider is that almost all web users go online to look for information, not necessarily to go and buy something. Above all else, make your website full of original, relevant and useful content. People will love articles that are appealing and helpful. Keep in mind that, in the internet, content is still king and good quality content will not only build your credibility, it can also help you achieve a higher search engine ranking. By posting relevant and useful articles, you establish yourself as a credible expert in the field, making you a more trustworthy endorser of the product or service you promote. Establishing a good reputation is a good step in building up a loyal consumer base.

Important Tool #2: Incentives

Competition is extremely tight in the internet world. You must always be one-step ahead of your rivals to ensure that you capture a significant share of your target market. Therefore, you must use every possible means to encourage people not only to visit your site but also to click and proceed to the websites of the products and services you are promoting. Building an opt-in email list is one of the best ways to gather prospects. Offer a newsletter or an e-zine. Better yet, offer incentives to your prospects to encourage them to subscribe to your newsletters. You can present free softwares, access to exclusive services and other freebies that will be helpful to your prospects.

Important Tool #3: Link Popularity

The importance of driving highly targeted traffic to your website cannot be emphasized enough. The all-important web traffic is at the top of the list of the most important entities in the internet world. Attracting people to your site should be the first step you should carry out. Do everything to achieve a high search engine ranking. Link Popularity is one of the factors that search engines use to determine search engine rankings. Therefore, to enhance your link popularity, you must launch an aggressive reciprocal link campaign.

One of the best ways to do this – at no cost at all – is by submitting articles, with your website's link at the resource box, to e-zines and free article sites. You will not only gain exposure, you will also have the opportunity to advertise for free, just include a link back to your site. The more sites you submit your articles to, the better your link popularity is. Make your articles original, relevant and useful so that more websites will pick it up and post it.

These are but three of the many tools that an affiliate marketer can use to maximize earning potential. The possibilities are endless and are limited only by your imagination, creativity, resourcefulness and determination. You can always explore other ideas and adapt other strategies, which you think might help you become a high rolling affiliate marketer.

The Past Present And Future Of Affiliate Marketing

Writen by Marissa Ranello

The Good Old Days

Remember the good old days? You'd purchase a domain name, set up your site (with a few swear words here and there), and place some banner ads (while crossing your fingers for the best banner ad click-through results). This all worked great--for a while; until people managed to avoid our banner ads like the plague. Life got more complex. What were us internet marketers to do? We had to become more savvy. Fortunately for us, the affiliate model was introduced.

Ah, the affiliate marketing model. It never hurts to get a little help from your friends, right? Affiliate marketing networks offer a wide range of advantages to businesses. In short: it's a booming business with dollar signs all around it. Sure, affiliate marketing can be a profitable business, but it can also be very aggravating, time consuming, and antisocial. So here's the big question: Why the heck do we keep putting ourselves through all of this pain? The answer, although seemingly complex, is quite simple: easy money.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The average person thinks of affiliate marketing as a "get rich quick" scheme for geeks and nerds. Actually, it's the farthest thing from the truth. Nowadays, you're just as likely to find a High School dropout behind an affiliate marketing operation; as you are to find a computer science major.

Despite the revenue advantages, many successful affiliate managers are weary of transparent affiliates. After all, there's a lot of trickery out there. You have to be on the lookout for the 'Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.' That's right folk, if you're the good guy, beware of the bad and the ugly affiliates. They're out there right now placing infectious adware on an unsuspecting consumer's computer.

As a marketer, it's your responsibility to investigate your affiliates use of adware. Don't turn your head and look the other way. It's OUR consumers that may receive unwanted and/or destructive ads. Can you blame them for becoming angry at the marketer who (perhaps inadvertently) funds adware infections? Of course not. Destructive ads shouldn't even be considered a marketing strategy. It's completely unethical.

The New Guy

In a nutshell, affiliate marketing is a great starting point. If you experience success--run with the ball. Explore additional performance compensation structures. But before you even consider jumping into the game, you should ask yourself the following questions (to avoid business pitfalls):

1). Will affiliate marketing assist you in reaching all of your business targets?

2). Will affiliate marketing have advantages over other types of online marketing?

3). Do you have the time and commitment to run a developing affiliate operation (which will require time to flourish and succeed?

4). How flexible is your budget for affiliate marketing?

Here's some background information for the 'new guy': Time and commitment are essential to your success. While running a network of affiliates doesn't require a college degree, it does require your attention for details. Perhaps this is why merchants find outsourced providers offer a very appealing solution. In addition, the new guy should realize:

• Not everyone will make five figures a month with affiliate marketing. There's a lot of marketers out there. You're the new guy, remember? Find some successful companies that use affiliate marketing. Research them. What did they do to become such a success? Can you duplicate that plan?

• You're not going to make any money eating potato chips in front of the television. If it were that easy--I'd be doing that instead of writing this article on affiliate marketing. Be prepared to devote a lot of time to your business and your affiliate relations.

• Don't take blind referrals from anyone! You'll discover the best affiliate opportunities through your own research.

The Future

In just the last few years, affiliate marketing has become a very powerful force on ecommerce. Every day thousands, if not millions, of merchants rely on affiliate marketing to drive their businesses. But is affiliate marketing all just a big hype? What ever happened to customer service? What strange times we live in; as the value of business is no longer placed on the customer--but on the relationship with whoever facilitated the connection.

This just goes to prove that affiliate marketing is only as good as the people who run it. Remember, there are ways to get your affiliate program noticed; just make sure that you get it noticed for the right reasons.
